So, the next bid of £230 is valid.

Yes, the winner will have the honour to chose from Box A or Box B. The remaining box will arrive to the second winner (technically, the first loser.)

Any new bid should be minimum £1 higher than the last bid announced.

So no, you need to bid against the highest bidder.
