Ukranian Coins - Anybody Got / Seen Any?

With Ukraine very much in the news, and also much discussed here on TSF, I found myself thinking about Ukrainian coins.

Could I remember owing any? Seeing any? Knowing what they look like? The name of the Ukrainian currency?

First, I looked at Wikipedia, because I could not remember their currency:

I found it very informative, and there was some intriguing stuff about grammatical "cases", which could get very confusing.

I was sure that we must have handled some Ukrainian coins at some stage in the past, so I was happy to find that we did have a web page for them on the oldest of our heritage websites:

Although we only had one single coin shown on the page:

There wasn't much nice ukrainian coin designs. The most known here is the Archangel Gabriel gold and silver bullion coins, released since 2012, if i remember right. They also released commemorative gold and silver coins, but i don't remember any, that i liked. 

 

Politics aside, there are many, many great belarussian and, of course, russian coins. To be honest, Russia released some of the nicest modern coins since the late 80's. I guess for collectors will be hard, to buy the new releases. But i guess, as always, coins will find their way.

Have you got any details of the denominations, translations, etc?

I think the Transdnistria ones are probably medallions rather than coins, for the tourist / souvenir trade.

They're all non-circulating but none are medallions as far as I can tell.
