If only to brighten your darkness a little, I'd like to ask a daft question under the pretext that I only buy modern bullion coins so this had me stumped; They melted down the Gairsoppa silver (those massive bars they pulled up) and reminted it into smaller ones for collectors?

Think the range of these bars where for the collectors market with the fancy box etc,then a range of standard bullion bars and coins for a wider audience.

Yeah in a beautiful presentation box,which I put in top shelf of the wardrobe for safe keeping, wife done a clear out ( more space for handbags likely) but at leat she checked it was empty,I will give her that...
