Britannia 10 oz silver

Recommended Posts

Hi friends.

I can't seem to find information about 10 oz Britannia coins,
release years and mintages.
The only one that seems to be available is 2021. one.
It will be helpful if anyone knows some link or source that goes deeper into this topic?

Thanks

I thought the 2021 10oz Britannia was the first one.

Thanks,
That explains why there is no info about it.
Any thoughts on how will this series behave, will it have any numismatic value in the future?
I'm seriously tempted to start collecting them (or hoarding the first issue at least). I know they will not be 10 oz QB but maybe an opportunity to collect a new series.
what do you guys think?
Is anyone collecting them?
I know this might come as rude but Queen doesn't have much time. Just stating the fact of nature, everything with her portrait is a memento of a different era.
Or I'm just a sucker cause Queen reminds me of my grandma?

I wouldn't regard it as a series myself. I expect they'll be the same design every year, but with a different date on, just like the 1oz bullion Britannia coins. However, maybe the 2022 version (if they make one!) will have the same security features as those introduced with the 2021 1oz coins.

There are other 10oz bullion coins with the Queen's head on, of course. You might like this one, as it has the Queen's head on both sides: https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-coins/silver-coins/the-queens-beasts-2022-10oz-silver-bullion-coin/

This one is also currently still available: https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-coins/silver-coins/royal-arms-2020-10oz-silver-coin/

As for a proper series, I'd be surprised if they don't end up making the Tudor Beasts available as 1oz and 10oz silver bullion later in the year.

I bought one last year but only because it was indeed the first time that it was released as a 10 oz silver coin and I like the design.

I doubt it will have any particular numismatic premium, but I love it for the pleasure of ownership.
