Just started the hobby of collecting silver and gold thanks to the Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts range. Bought a silver Lion of Englad and intend to get a 1/4 oz gold one as well as a second silver. Any advice or useful and trustworthy resources where to buy from, etc would be much appreciated. I have noticed that some places actually sell the coins cheaper than the corresponding Mint itself. Is this a common practice?

Welcome. :)

The royal mint bullion website is often not the cheapest source of gold and silver, but at the moment it does have the monopoly on the quarter ounce gold beast as far as I know. The silver coin is going to be stocked by several European dealers many of them offer coins VAT free already, though it is not guaranteed to happen with the beasts, we will see when they get them in. The 1 ounce gold coin is stocked by many dealers around the UK already, shopping around will likely save you a few quid compared to buying from the mint itself.

Hi and welcome. I have learned a lot on this forum and hope you too.

I agree with KDave on your question.
I really like the Queen Beast and the majority here too, so I think you started your collection well.

But yeah, spend some time on the forum and you will find out where you can find the best and trustworthy dealers.
