  2. New line of precious metals for the vertically challenged? A gap in the market maybe???
  3. When I bought a decent camera I expected decent shots (with a bit of messing with settings) but I have to faff about a bit on the pc but its all to try and show the true quality of the coin, some enhancements feel like cheating. Makes it easier to grade though, nice big clear shot saves me farting around with a loupe (especially when you leave the light on, the batteries run out and you dont have spares...).
  4. Bo11ocks, just realised this is a sov only thread....
  5. And same settings with an unshiny 1878 Belgian 20F
  6. Can I enter? Business membership is not normally allowed to take part in prize draws…
  7. Up close, closer than close, so close you can almost see Her Maj's nose hair... Obverse F, reverse EF? Any thoughts?
  8. A few MOXRIOS100's (s/n 003, 005 and 007). A collaboration between Mox Metals and Rios Precious Metals.

    TSF meet-up ????

I daren’t, isn’t he known for taking a dislike to anyone who could be competition? I’m only an amoeba in a big ocean where he’s a great white but still, there’s no point poking the grumpy bear with a stick of rock…

So are we doing another in Manc? I guess the old guy won’t be travelling south? At his age any bumps in the road can break bones 😎

  12. Only noticed I had his foot stepping out of the boat and onto the stand after I had seen it on the pc. Thanks to @Charliemouse for tips on taking photos
  13. You need some MOX250's to go with the 100g, I would say maybe start with half a dozen or so?
  14. We can go around in circles, I understand what you are saying though that wasn't obvious from your previous posts. I agree that at some point someone is paying therefore it is not free but also it is free in the eyes of the customer. Do Chards ever offer free postage? I bet you have had a few free lunches in your time, that technically aren't free, but are free to you! Nice shades, is it hot up there at the moment? Good weather to get stripped off and wave your stick of rock around on the beach.
  15. The point was that yes, postage is paid by me but there is no postage paid by the seller and therefore postage is free to them, what I am giving is an all in price. The fee is taken whether or not I split the postage out but that does not matter to the buyer. I want to sell stuff therefore free postage is used as a psychological tool to encourage buying. I do not add the cost of postage to the item when calculating the value I advertise for the item. I know what an item costs me to produce to the point where it is available to sell and on ebay I look to be lowest price incl P&P and whatever is left over after packing and posting is mine. I know I can cover the postage, and it is a cost for me, not the buyer. So its free. To them. Like complimentary peanuts, or toilet paper in a pub toilet.
  16. I haven’t found this to be what I have experienced on eBay, if I understand correctly. EBay take a fee from me stated in the T&C’s and based on the value of the sale. Nothing is taken regarding postage. If you are saying they charge a fee on their integrated system with Royal Mail then that’s is different. I don’t use that system so don’t know if there is any variance from normal RM prices. Items sold on eBay are at the vendors risk when it comes to postage. Offering free postage gives you the freedom, when taking on that risk, to either send using your stated method or increase the level of confidence dependent on the value of the item. I’m not sure who you refer to when saying many have been brainwashed into believing in the myth of free postage. If I’m taking the risk I will dictate postage option and price the item accordingly. You also mention “postage and packing”, packing is a cost to the business factored into the price of the goods sold? Like wages, rent and all other overheads?
  17. This is my neodymium magnet which can lift 12.1 kg. When you slide it down silver it is slightly slower than if you slide it down a metal that is not magnetic. Comes in a metal case for shielding, shouldn’t be handled much or put in pocket as it can react to the iron in your blood.
