This is how the banksters will sell it to you, nasty cash just used by drug dealers and the black market so getting rid of the big notes stops this, then they will move on to smaller and smaller denomination notes and then eventually they will say who needs nasty dirty cash anyway, there's not much left lets go totally digital and now you have no option but to keep all your money in the bank.   Job done as far as the banskters are concerned, they can now make their negative interest rates whatever they like and there is nothing you can do about it, also there will be no more cash under the mattress or runs on the bank since there is no such thing as cash to withdraw, if a bank goes under all your money is lodged with them ready to take whatever haircut the bank deems appropriate to keep them solvent.
Finally now everything is digital they now have records of every single transaction you have made so once they are done demonizing cash as the tool of the criminal they will move onto gold and they now know every last ounce you have purchased since digital was accepted.   We would be best to dig our heels in and reject this as it's obvious banks are fast tracking this into play before they go bust as they would far prefer all your funds were with them than with you.

I know what you mean and it might reflect buyers coming back in, with relatively 'strong hands'.

However, next week's price isn't inherently determined by last week's.

$100 bill - you would think this would be a well used note in USA, I wonder what is behind that?
70% does have a big impact and at the bottom end it is now quicker to pay by contacless for paper, coffee, etc. than pay cash, hand over the money, wait for change.
However, what I don't understand is that there are more and more ATM's going into more obscure locations.
    A mad world!

There is also the call to withdraw large notes from circulation, the banksters plan to remove the 500 Euro note and the $100 note from circulation looks on the whole like an innocuous move but is actually a highly significant first step as this alone decreases paper currency by 70%.

Do you know, it does feel like a quiet war on cash; Contactless cards, limits on transactions at banks, lower interest rates, credit scoring.........  I agree with you too the only choice; fit in or get out!

I think PM's have no option other than to go up in the near future, the war on cash must surely give no other option.  As more and more countries promote cashless which the banks have to do if they want to implement negative interest rates then PMs are one of the few viable alternatives available for those who don't want to go along with the criminality.

Since the Tories have been against J.C's QE for infrastructure idea it would look like a bit of an own goal if QE for the banks is ramped up.  So I suspect they may hold off cutting rates for the moment (that's assuming these people can think two moves ahead).
