  1. BBP has stopped taking pre-orders: https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/silver-coins/silver-queens-beast/1kg-silver-completer-queens-beast/
  2. eBay is not necessarily a good price guide. You can charge what you want, but whether it sells is a different matter. I think BBP and Atkinsons should be getting some 1 kilo silver Completers fairy soon, so at the moment it probably does not make much sense to pay a substantial premium over the current release prices.
  3. BBP is taking pre-orders. They hope to have them in next week. I have ordered one!
  4. As the Royal Mint is milking this series, surely we have to expect milk spots!
  5. I think it is the Royal Mint that is causing the silver shortage!
  6. I think the Isle of Man designs are better. The quotations show that at least somone is familiar with the contents of the book!
  7. In response to my query whether the Royal Mint intends to commemorate the NHS being awarded the George Cross, I guess I got the standard response from the Mint: "Information about our upcoming coins remains confidential with relevant updates being released to the public and customers leading up to the launch."
  8. Given that the Queen has just awarded the George Cross to the NHS, I wonder whether the Royal Mint will commemorate this? It would be relatively easy to incorporate a George Cross into the design of the "N for NHS" Great British Coin Hunt 10p. I think this would be a worthy achievement to celebrate on a coin.
  9. Maybe life is stranger than fiction! I think this one will be released later in the year.
  10. The Isle of Man have already issued an Alice in Wonderland set of 50ps. It will be interesting to see how the RM's designs compare. https://www.westminstercollection.com/p-531F/Alices-Adventures-in-Wonderland-BU-50p-Set.aspx?sn=Z
  11. That would be half a guinea - please do not give the RM ideas!
  12. My 2oz silver proof Completer arrived this morning. Given that there was a debate about how many the Royal Mint would have for sale, and the suggestion that quite a number of the 750 would be going to dealers, it might be useful to look at the certificate numbers to see the range that people have. My number was 615. On eBay I have noted 518 and 67? (could not see the last number). So, if you have a number outside of this range, please report it.
  13. All still on sale. Maybe the Royal Mint has overdone it this week.
  14. The Who Limited Edition Print £95 - is this the Royal Mint's equivalent of paper silver??? https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/music-legends/the-who/limited-edition-print/
  15. Do you have a reference for this?
  16. Yes, it came out in April with the release of the first Completer coins: https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/ranges/queens-beasts/the-completer-coin/2021-ten-ounce-silver-proof-coin/
  17. I suppose the Royal Mint could produce fewer coins/varieties, but in larger quantities, and then properly advertise them in order to stimulate collector interest. Yes, this would upset the flippers but would it not be better for the future of the hobby? I reckon we must have had a record number of coins released yesterday: 10 gold proof quarter ounce coins 10 silver proof 1oz coins 10 silver proof quarter ounce coins The 2oz proof silver Completer, and The Five-Sovereign Matt BU piece. which total to 32 new precious metal coins (did I miss any?). Is this a world record for the number of coins released on one day???
  18. I forgot to check the RM websited this morning to see whether any new Beasts were released!
  19. I suppose this is an alternative version - based on the One Pound coin of 2015. I think I would prefer the 1983 coat of arms.
  20. The obvious coat of arms to use would be the one that we saw on the 1983 Pound coin - with the words "ONE POUND" replaced with "2022"
  21. The 2oz silver proof Completer coin was also released this morning. https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/ranges/queens-beasts/the-completer-coin/2021-uk-two-ounce-silver-proof-coin/
  22. I think there is the danger that the release of the 2oz silver proof Completer wil hit the demand for / price of the 1oz silver proof version.
  23. No, I did not know they were being released today (quite often the RM does not tell people when they are issuing things - I know this sounds crazy). But Monday is a popular day for new releases.
  24. It is just a matter of looking at the RM website from 8.45am onwards and seeing if there is a queue. Then waiting... to see what is released! I was not aware of the 2oz silver proof Completer until about 9.15am despite being on the website at 9am.
