  1. Anyone who thinks setting a cap to what people can own is a bright idea has no notion of what makes us humans tick. Organized 'wealth distribution' by politicians leads to dictatorship. Chilling to even contemplate the absurdity of it. As others have noted, this is the sort of rhetoric that leads to the slippery slope of maoist, naxalite and French Revolution style head-chopping parties.
  2. From the piece: "extra votes for younger citizens and parents of children". Sweet baby jeebus, what could possibly go wrong.... (cough, cough - Thunberg for president and AOC as VP, anyone?)

  4. Yes indeed, Happy New Year Y'all! It looks to start with a bumpy ride, but may the stackers prevail and everyone stay safe.
  5. I'm just sad I didn't buy the original Petition Crown a couple decades ago https://coins.ha.com/itm/great-britain/great-britain-charles-ii-silver-pattern-petition-crown-1663-ms62-ngc-/a/3113-31155.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515

  7. Very strong prices, yes. The 1887 was 'presumed unique' so someone just had to have it. The 1923-SA Proof Sov PCGS PR65 Cameo for 13.5k+BP did very well too.
  8. Ended up to £35,000 + 18% BP (+VAT).
  9. I think @katycis nailing it - buyers need to adapt to the 'new normal' baseline. I was buying Sovs from auctions all year long from the UK. In the summer it was not unusual to see 5-7%++ premiums, now just before Christmas they were practically negative (I don't pay VAT). The cheapest gold coin I purchased this year from UK was two weeks ago - a 1/4 oz Eagle went in a public auction for -5.5% (under spot - yes, it was genuine; phew!).
  10. Oh very nice, scarce that 1993 Coin Fair card.
  11. Have a look at https://bullionstacker.com
  12. The BU version might be an easy and attainable fix.
  13. I think @richatthecroft may be onto something... hammered. Wow.
  14. The stickers on the outer baggies I received revealed the product codes (and manufacturing dates). HBBG001G5 = happy birthday 5 gm HBBG001G = happy birthday 1 gm RMGM003G5 = best wishes 5 gm RMGM003G = best wishes 1 gm etc. Clear as mud. E.g., the Henna I got was bagged in October 2021 and Little Treasure in November 2020.
  15. It's a lovely thing, that. The 1959 SP67 NGC that they mention was sold at St. James's in Feb 2022 for GBP20.5k+BP, and I have no doubt this will go higher.
  16. There's a guy on the Aussie forum offering them for A$500 + postage ea, head over there if that sounds reasonable...
  17. US businesses added 199,000 jobs in November US businesses added 199,000 jobs in November, a rise on October and another sign of labour market strength that will bolster Federal Reserve officials’ view that interest rates will need to remain high for some time yet. -- Plummeth..
  18. No, it's not the National Trust we're talking about... sheesh!
  19. Haven't had this much entertainment since the Irish Central Bank had those 2016 Proclamation coins under spot.
  20. The IT is more likely sitting in Bangalore, there's the time difference and Jessop's yelling didn't reach them...
  21. Might be their web shop servers run an update once per day or some such during weekends, so even if they made the change yesterday it would've become refreshed only today.
  22. Heritage Auctions has an office in London.
  23. You and me both, brother. The FOMO is real.
