  1. For comparison, here’s a Victoria Crown of mine, an earlier date- I think this one could be a GVF. NGC would give it a Details grade- ‘cleaned’.
  2. I would grade it as Fine. It is worn and soft in terms of detail of its design, the Reverse is better than the Obverse- NGC would likely grade as VF 25 or VF30.

    PF 3?

PF- Proof, is the Strike Type which has no bearing on a coins Numeric Grade- 70 we are all familiar with, but the grade can be as low as 1 ! https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-grading/grading-scale/ I think the coin in your photo has been harshly graded! Likely a missing digit on the label.
  4. Resorted to eBay to purchase this lovely base metal Proof Crown as it was only made available to visitors to the Royal Mint Experience.
  5. Received this lovely 2013 Queen’s Coronation 60th Anniversary Silver Proof Crown Set today, I already have the Piedfort Set so a nice complementry addition. The Royal Arms Reverse design is by James Butler and in Silver Proof, the Gillick, Machin and Maklouf Obverses look fantastic- less can be said of the Rank- Broadley 4th Portait.
  6. It’s very unusual to find and acquire such a nice example. 1551 Edward VI Sixpence, mm Tun GVF- with an exceptional portrait of the young boy king. This issue is very often plagued with creases and worn. This is the inaugural Sixpence issue, and I’m pleased to add such a nice example into my collection.
  7. Thanks. Yes, it’s in lovely condition for its age. Likely been preserved in a collection for quite a number of years. There are quite a lot in higher grades, imagine how appealing a MS65 would be.
  8. Thank you. I think the lighting I used to take the photo flatters the 1817 Sovereign somewhat- but it is just lighting, the photographs weren’t filtered or photoshopped- the photos below are perhaps more representative. It was designated MS62 by NGC- lovely eye appeal 👍. I Have recently had the Sovereign re- slabbed as the old slab was scuffed.
  9. I think this Queen’s Reign set of three coins is lovely. Received the second in the series today.
  10. MS61 ? Beautiful. An absolute rarity in any grade above AU55 👍
  11. I bought these too- around a kilo of them from memory, from @Bullionbilly, yes pretty bars- sold them on… …to @StackSellRepeat, good luck prising them from Yas’s mits.
  12. Something old and something new. Elizabeth I, milled coinage, sixpence, 1562, mm. star, crowned bust D, curly Z in ELIZABETH, wt. 3.05gms. (S.2596; N.2027; Borden & Brown 27-01/R1). Ex Studio Coins & Christopher Comber Collection.
  13. Two more Sixpence’s added to the collection today, bought at the recent Coinery auction. The 1853 Proof Sixpence is delightful and I feel so lucky to have acquired a coin that’s as rare as Hen’s teeth.
  14. Project Sixpence continues. Thanks @Spanishsilver for the 2021 issue. And a lovely 1953 Coronation Set Proof issue.
  15. Project Sixpence. New project underway. Thanks @matt1r for the early trio of these five 👍 Sweet little coins, with lots of eye appeal and in nice grades.
  16. Just wondering what the overall weight of the Cigar box was and it’s net Silver weight? I’m interested as I once had a monster 1.5kg box and always wondered what the net weight would have been. The Cedar wood lining is negligible but the weight in the lid and bottom looks to be significant.
