At this rate, I'm half tempted to buy back all the gold I sold the other week and make a (very) small profit.
If I was in buying mode, I'd be backing up the proverbial truck.

Next up is my only silver, a 2020 Royal Arms 10oz coin. £320 + £8.95 special delivery. It came stright from the Royal Mint and has never left the capsule it came in.
I don't think this is of sufficient high value to bother with an intermediary. If you want to buy this one, you will have to place trust in me.
If you have extensive (50+) and unblemished forum trading feedback, I will consider sending for approval before payment. Please do not be offended if I do not consider your current feedback extensive enough.
All sold as seen please review pictures as returns / refunds are not accepted.
To order: Please direct message me to confirm your order.
Order confirmation and dispatch details will be provided upon receipt of payment in full.
Payment Terms: Payment by bank transfer in GBP
Box/COA: In airtite capsule.
Condition notes: Came to me in a capsule. I can’t see any visible marks with my naked eye. Capsule has light scuffs. Please look at photographs carefully and if you want more photographs, please ask.Item Location: UK
Shipping: Buyer assumes risk of shipping. Items will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery fully insured. All tracking and reference details will be provided to buyer. Coins will be shipped individually to remain within insurance value limits.
Shipping destinations: Will ship to Major UK Royal Mail postal locations only.
Dispatch Time: I aim to dispatch as soon as possible, which will be same or next working day after receiving full payment.Refunds / Returns: All Sales are final, and refunds / returns are not accepted.
Thanks for looking.

Dipping my toes into the sales forum with some trepidation.
Up first is my 1oz 2020 Lion of Mortimer. As with all my purchases, they came from the dealer and stright into capsules so are in excellent condition. £2000 +postage.
As I have no trading feedback, I will be happy to use BackyardBullion’s intermediary services.

They did the same to me about two years ago. No apology for messing up my order and clearly no frigs given. I've avoided them since.

I sold almost all my bog standard sovs and 1oz brits to Atkinsons this weekend, (at a shade under 98% spot), which will raise the majority chunk of the mortgage deposit. 😔
Their buying and selling spread for QB's was just too big to swallow, so they will be staying with me for a while until things 'normalise' a little, then I'll list them on TSF (for much better value than you'd get from a dealer). 😉
I also want to check if this large deposit of money into my account triggers any sort of investigation. I don't think it will, but I've always kept a record of receipts, just in case. 😉

What's some of the better value dealers, KC? Seems to vary depending on what you're looking for, in my very limited experience
Chards and Atkinsons are probably the two I've spent the most money with.
TBF almost every dealer seems like better value than buying straight from Royal Mint.
-
I started with a few interesting CGT free oz coins (direct from RM and payed way too much) but, as I discovered better value dealers, I moved on to sovs. Upon reflection, now that I'm thinking of turning it back into cash, it would've been easiest to just stack 'best value' bullion sovs.
It was never my intention to be a collector, I just aquired a few collectables along the way.

Just be wary that in their terms they might offer a lower price if the coins are not in great condition. You can of course reject their offer but I assume would have to pay the return postage to get your items back?
Someone I know who had best value sovs sold back to them and a couple were marked down from the price quoted. I think it was about -6% of spot on those
I've had to return a particularly rough best value sov Atkinsons tried to sell to me in the past so... that's fair enough. 😆
-
Obviously, everything will sell if priced cheaply.
A good shout regards Atkinsons for the sovs as I'd like for achieve as close to spot as possible but could consider 98% to save on hassle.
The difference between Atkinsons selling price and buying price for QB's though is way too much. They will buy my 2019 Yale for £1840 and but sell it for £2291... that's a very expensive convenience.
Same lack of value for graded coins, I've got a slabbed MS70 proof 2012 full sov and they'll take it off my hands for £650? Mmmm maybe not.

I've been watching the discussion on the forum around the recent hikes on gold price with some amusement.
I didn't get the impression from those discussions that forumites would be queuing up to buy gold right now, what with the ongoing ATH's putting people off.
I've been collecting for a few years as a means of saving towards a mortgage deposit. I've ammased a few 1oz QB's and a Brit, and a few more full sov's over the years... and I'm getting thoroughly sick of paying someone elses mortgage with my rent.
The question is, If I were to start listing these coins (at reasonable prices - spot for bullion and a small premium for QB's), would I find many buyers, or would they sit unsold as people wait for a pull back on gold price?
What do you think?

I'm just thinking, looking at the six month gold chart, we are +25% up for the sake of super simple maths
Those of us here with PF70 gold in plastic coffins
If you were holding a £1000 coin six months ago, is it right it is worth to £1250 ?
or is the price about the same ??
A lot of our gold proof pieces we are still not close to break even at ie buying a new 1oz gold proof from RM is still £2770
With this +25% increase to spot for common gold/circulated sovereigns, could this be a good time to pick up now under valued PF70s ?
Sorry if this is a bit rambling and without focus but hopefully see my point ?
Any opinions ??
I've got one of those... by mistake. I hate it. Would have much rather had bullion... it's easier.

Royal mint site is a whisker off 2 grand for a single brittania and 475 a soverign. Psychologicaly for me seeing 2 grand an ounce breached there will be quite something.
TBF, the prices Royal Mint ask, I'm surprised they haven't reached £2k much earlier
