  1. Wanna be jealous? I have been promised Anne Jessopp's sandwich wrapper and napkin from her lunch that she eats tomorrow (May 6). It's her very special coronation lunch trash, and I'm getting it! I am so blessed!!
  2. Tomorrow morning at 6:66. Unfortunately, your Sovereign will have a curse over it. However, fret not!! The RM said that they will remove the curse if you promise to spend a minimum of £5,000 in RM products by the end of the year. The folks in RM sales are little devils, aren't they?
  3. Well, I live on the other side of the world, and it does take a few weeks to get here after shipment. It was great when the RM used DHL or UPS to send my coins when there was the problem with the Royal Mail. Maybe I will just fly to Cardiff and drive to the RM to pick up my SOTD. Yes, it's THAT important!
  4. That's easy! It's because of the RM's elaborate and complex QC program. Every single coin is individually inspected for hours before approval to send to collectors.
  5. Sorry, but I'm very proud of my relationship with the RM. Heck, just the other day I called Anne Jessopp on her direct line, and she put me on hold. She could have easily hung up on me, but she kindly put me on hold. Of course, she never came back to the phone, but at least she did not hang up on me! 👍
  6. My account manager told me that I would qualify for a 1/40 oz. coin, but there are none left to send me. So, she told me that there are several being returned for QC issues, and I can buy one of those - at 20% above RRP as an extra fee for dealing with collectors like me. It's SO good to feel appreciated!
  7. It's actually worth the cost just to have Anne Jessopp's facsimile signature on the back!
  8. Excellent idea. It's a great gift and makes them feel like a part of the coronation.
  9. Oh, what the heck! It's a novelty. Plus, I get to whip out my magnifying glass to make it look bigger. I have a lot of experience in that area. 😭
  10. You are obligated to buy it only if you are the winning bidder. You won't know if you won until the auction ends. So, if you are the top bidder before the auction ends, there are no guarantees because you can be outbid. You can enter a very high bid and if it exceeds the last bid just before closing, you would win. Of course, the easiest type of purchase is Buy it Now. Some sellers may also accept a best offer.
  11. Understood. Mintage is very limited, and demand is high due to the uniqueness and historical significance of the event and coin.
  12. Five coronation coins are plenty for me. I'm saving my big money for the next SOTD Sovereign - when the newly crowned KCIII sits on the throne and does his business there. Freshly minted in a pleasing shade of brown gold. 😝
  13. Red spots or not, I'm saving mine for my dentist. He can melt it down and put that small drop of gold in one of my cavities. Then I'll be forever linked to KCIII and the Coronation. And, when I smile, there will be that bright gleam of gold that will remind people of this important historical event.
  14. And may all your 1/40 oz. gold orders be filled in error by 1/4 oz. gold coins!
  15. That's what's so amazing about it. And, the cost is low, so what the heck?
  16. I ordered one of the 1/40 oz. gold coins. If I get tired of it, I'll just give it to my dentist to fill any small cavity I have.
  17. Anyone know of a dealer selling the SOTD Sovereign?
  18. Not me! I am an old goat whose milk has dried up long ago.
  19. My gut feeling is that it's a one off. Collectors have been waiting for this release because of its historical significance and a better shot at flipping what they bought. The rest of the Sovereigns will be the next big thing, particularly the sets. The sets are not for me, but I'll go for a proof when it's released. For this release, I got a 50p piedfort silver, £5 piedfort silver, 2 oz. silver ounce, and a SOTD Sovereign.
  20. I already pre-ordered the ones I want. This is the way to go from now on. Plus, the dealers check the coins before sending them. No sense fighting the RM queues for an inferior product.
  21. My mistake! Apologies. It’s been a rough week for me and I seem to be pushing the calendar (wishfully). Everything will be available on the 24th.
  22. If for some reason it’s not, the price has already been published (£850), so I’m sure some dealers will allow you to pre-order. The dealers should also know their allocations on Monday.
  23. From what I have read, the SOTD Sovereign should be available for pre-order on Monday.
  24. I will go for the 3 silvers in piedfort and the SOTD Sovereign. That’s enough for me for a while.
