  1. I do like this coin a lot, but not quite as much as Henry VII. IMO, King James looks a bit like a doll or puppet in that portrait, but I'm sure it's faithful to the original. I got a 1 oz. and 2 oz. silver of the Henry VII and was going to decide which one I want to collect for the rest of the series. I could not decide so I ended up getting the same coins for James I. I also love the bigger and better box the 2 oz. Henry came in. I better make a decision or this could cost me a bundle. But, at any rate, collecting both silvers is a lot cheaper than collecting the golds.
  2. I got a 1 oz. silver and a 2 oz. silver - both from dealers. I will never buy another coin directly from the RM again due to all their QC issues plus all the queue hassles.
  3. I think you win the award for the worst coin. Congratulations! This is a total shame and tells me that there is NO QC at the RM anymore. They have completely abandoned QC in order to mint and get these out the door as fast as possible. A reviewer who is blind can see all the problems with this coin! For sure I would send it back and request a refund. If they play games and deny your request, try denying the charge with your credit card company.
  4. What the hell is wrong with these people at the RM? They are either blind or just don't give a c**p. And, I think it's the latter. I feel bad for all of you who are getting such substandard coins. For sure, this settles it for me. I was going to try my luck in the queue for the Monarchs next release on Monday. No way now! I will buy it from a dealer. Yes, it will cost more, but I've never gotten a bad coin from a dealer. They inspect it and would send it back if it's damaged. This incompetence by the RM should be exposed in the media.
  5. Don't forget that there will also be returns for all the QC issues. The Mint would be happy to resell these rejects like a bakery selling day-old bread - except it won't be at a discount.
  6. I will dip my foot into the madness (queue). If it looks foreboding, I'll go to a dealer I trust.
  7. I think MANY will fit in the tube.......especially if you pack 'em in like sardines and just mind the door closing.
  8. Could these burn marks be caused by some sort of coating the RM is putting on the silver coins to minimize milk spotting? Maybe when NGC encapsulates the coins in the slabs they use a heat process that is burning the coating?

  10. This is all so ridiculous! First, problems with QC issues with the RM and now slabbing issues with NGC. Seeing all this, there is absolutely no way I am sending any of my coins for grading. If I am happy with my coins as they are raw, they will stay that way in the mint packaging.
  11. Just got my bullion Britannia. It's a very nice coin indeed. I like it so much that I ended up ordering four more. Even though it's BU, I like the different finishes on it where it almost looks like a reverse proof.
  12. This is a nice picture of the bullion Britannia. I too like that wavy anti-counterfeiting background. The coin looks great and made me really want one.....so I ended up ordering just one for my collection. I usually don't buy the bullion versions, but this is a different coin and I think it looks quite good.
  13. Maybe you should call them and tell them to keep the coin because it's damaged. Then ask for a replacement and tell them to keep that, too, because it's also damaged. Then just ask for a refund.
  14. I am still waiting for my 5 oz. silver Royal Jubilee. That went on sale back when I entered puberty.
  15. This will shock you, but no one has taken me up on my offer. So.....and this will shock you again.....I am now offering my 1 oz. silver Henry VII in typical "high quality" RM condition for a mere £2,000, saving you the ungodly amount of £1,500!! I am expecting a huge demand so I am setting up my own queue. Good luck to you all, and I hope you get a low queue number!
  16. Yes, my head is spinning and my wallet is thinning out from all these releases! I think I may know what the RM is doing. Because quality has completely dropped with all these issues rushed through, we have been returning many, many coins. I think the RM made a deal with the Royal Mail to give them more business, and now both are raking in the cash.
  17. Thanks, Zhorro (and others) for straightening this out for me. I find it unbelievable that there are three different versions with the same coin. If they have different designs, shouldn't they have different names to avoid confusion? Any way for the RM to keep pumping out coins and making all that money, I guess.
  18. Now I'm confused. How many 2022 Britannias are there? Looks like this one plus the one released this morning. Are there 2 Britannias?
  19. I wonder what is going on with the RM website on the Britannia coins? The 2 oz. silver and 2 coin set keep going back and forth between "sold out" and "awaiting stock".
  20. Since I don't collect all of the annual releases of the Britannia, I was not tied to a particular size. So, I ordered the 2 coin proof / reverse proof set. I did not order the celebration of womanhood Britannia because one of the women on the coin looks like my wife, and I don't feel she should be celebrated on a coin! Okay, so my wife actually looks like Britannia. Yes, my wife does indeed walk around the house with a helmet, shield, and pitchfork. She is so intimidating that it scares the c**p out of me. I do whatever she tells me to do!
  21. Before anyone jumps to buy this, I will sell you my 1 oz. silver Henry VII for £2,500, saving you £1,000! Plus, shipping is free! OK, everyone, just wipe the tears from your eyes and admit that I'm one heck of a nice guy!
  22. There will be a SOTD when the Queen gets off the throne and the royal flush is heard throughout the land.
  23. I finally received my 1 oz. Henry VII today. Ordered from a vendor. Arrived in perfect condition (to the eye, anyway). There was a little strip of plastic over the coin apparently to prevent the coin from jostling and to keep the capsule intact.
  24. Well, Henry VII was extremely popular. Based on that, one would think they'd continue the series.
