  1. I would prefer cash for this one, if it doesn't go though might be up for a trade
  2. She's worn, showing at 7.9g on my scales Apologies for the slow response my scales were not in the usual place
  3. She is worn, she is underweight, but she is still pretty and a desirable early date. Looking for £400 plus post BT or PPF&F, NI or UK Mainland only
  4. He got one don't worry, a pretty 69, ooheerrr :
  5. I cant do a shield back with the agreed cash I'm afraid, I don't have any I would value at £390-395. I will have a look what I have in hand and drop you a pm
  6. Nice one, I don't generally do 1oz Gold but I do like this design a lot Do you have a preference on age or monarch?
  7. James please, like I have anything other than nice sovereigns, seriously
  8. Sure, I would be happy at that. You may get a better offer though so if you wish time to see if you do or even get a full cash offer I am happy to wait
  9. Any interest in a trade for 3 or even 4 sovereigns and cash your way? And if so what would the cash amount(s) be?
  10. I think so too, I will happily buy at those prices. This dip is the time to get them I reckon. The plain edge matte coins stand a good chance of doing very well I think, the mintage numbers make them hard to resist
  11. Just an update on pricing for these now we are starting to see some auction results come through, In October the Coin Cabinet sold 3, one raw and two graded at 70 So we can see the prices have very much normalised now from the hype on first release with raw going only £50 over rrp and a more reasonable price on the MS70 examples. There may have been fee's on top of these prices I would assume as the prices are too exact to include fee's. I get confused with what auctioneers charge what but I know todays Coin Cabinet sale was 6%
  12. Nice, I think these were only done in the sets of 50p's where all were dated 2009 as well, mintage of something like 80. The 'normal' one is 2006 I think (caveat I am too lazy to check if I am remembering dates or numbers correctly before commenting )
  13. As a hard-core stacker of all Victoria Young Heads I will pay a premium for shields. My target price on a decent bullion coin of at least gF would be upto 5% on G&D and upto 15% on shields. This goes up depending on condition, rarity and for me variants. For insurance purposes because I have had a lot of my coins for a long time and they have been bought at a wide range of premiums I try to simplify it by having a spread sheet that applies a % premium to current spot for each coin, that way I only need to update the spot price and the values are worked out for me. Right now for G&D I only apply a 3% premium for commons unless they are gVF or better going up to 15% on rare years or very desirable variants. Shields I value at 15% still (so £427 right now) for commons going up to 33% on rares (so £494 right now). It is not an exact science and other coins I have I would value much higher, for example the below is both a rare year and in very nice grade and I would value it above what my spread sheet would say it was worth

    Which Sovs to sell

From a market perspective, memorial and coronation sovereigns are not selling very high, and Atkinsons have platinum's in stock for £390 so you would need to beat that price Gillicks always sell well and from what you listed seem the natural choice Young Heads sell well always, though the premium on common bullion, especially shields , is as low as it has been for a long time, variants and rare's still preforming well though You forget to mention the graded I know you have special years are doing OK, though the memorials are tanking and the coronations are below rrp unless PF70 Bad time to sell at the moment though as its a race to the bottom for premiums with too many sellers and not enough buyers on most platforms.
  15. Lovely thing that is Rishi, I'm already down to one kidney though mate so out my reach I think the premium is fair, its a small market I would guess though.
  16. Like a lot of the colonial young heads the 1885S has very deceptive mintage figures, with the 1885S number of 1.4m being shared across both the shields and George and Dragon,

  20. Special reverse sovereigns have always taken time to gain in popularity previously, all of them, 89/02/05/12. The premium RM charge on proof these days mean if you buy from them directly you will 'lose' a chunk of value immediately. But long term I suspect they will go up and become sought after as new buyers coming to the market want to get examples of all the special reverse. Now is certainly the time to be picking them up, I have purchased quite a few of the half's for both the jubilee and memorial just because they were lower mintage than the full sovereigns. I would not have done this had they not tanked so hard, but at the premium I have picked mine up I am very happy. They went straight into storage though, just kept one of each in the safe in case I want to admire them
