SilverOxide got a reaction from Dakaras in Charity Guess the offer I get! Silver Brit for the winner and donation to RCUA
£15.75, plus they’ll be doing you a favour by paying that much. Customer care matters to every pawnshop 😂👍🏻🙈

SilverOxide reacted to LawrenceChard in RMR - Royal Mint Refinery Kilo Silver Bar
I recently saw a small number of RMR - Royal Mint Refinery Kilo Silver Bars:
I used to see RMR gold bars quite often, produced by N.M. Rothschild (NMR) who operated it for many years, until 1968 apparently.
I was aware the Royal Mint had "resurrected" the brand a few years back (2015), but for some reason had not yet seen any of their modern RMR branded silver bars, so it was interesting to have the opportunity to take a good look at them.

SilverOxide reacted to Bullion70 in New member - Hello There!
Hello Everyone!
I've just joined and wish to introduce myself. I've been stacking for a few years now, primarily gold Britannias, and have just retired. I intend to slowly sell my coins over time so as to generate an additional income stream during retirement, as and when needed. I would be grateful for any advice from more experienced forum members as to the best approach to selling here, especially given I have no track record as yet.
Best wishes.

SilverOxide reacted to polarbear in Hello everyone!
Another newbie here to make an introduction.
I've been collecting silver for around a year now, initially because I thought it would be a good long-term investment. However once I'd got my first few ounces, the lure of the shiny was too difficult to overcome, so nowadays I keep buying silver purely because I enjoy feeling like a medieval king with a chest full of treasure . I'm a big history fan, so I was collecting Roman coins before I got started on the silver bullion. My current favourite antique coin that I own is a Roman Dupondius from around 27BC (sadly, it's only made of brass...)
I've also recently added a shiny new half-sovereign to the collection - the first bit of gold I've ever bought. Will definitely be adding more at some point in the near future, along with more silver coins that have interesting or beautiful designs.

Hi all
Just wanted to say hi. I’m new to pretty much all of this precious metal lark but started reading up on it a month or so ago and found it fascinating. Hoping to learn a lot with a view to dipping my toe in the water with a few purchases.
Hope to speak with you all in the near future.

SilverOxide reacted to Rosco in New Member, Wanting to Say Hello
Hello all,
I'm new to precious metals and don't have much knowledge but really like the idea of diversifying my wealth and maybe collecting some coins. I have been browsing around and am quite astonished by the amount of variety in some of these coins. I am interested in starting a tube of 25 1oz Silver Britannias to start with possibly. I would like to see any coins with age of sail ships on them much like Temeraire on the new style £20 if such a thing exists?
Anyway, I look forward to dealing with people and browsing through what you all have to offer.
Cheers,
Rosco

Welcome. I don't think that love of silver will ever go away. It's a glint that's forever in your eye.
But I'd wager you probably wiill end up with some gold in your stack. It's nigh on impossible to resist once you're stacking in earnest.
Oh... and this is a great place to pick up some non-VAT silver, so don't think you have to accept it if you'd rather avoid it.
FNF.

Welcome. I'm newish myself. Great site. Lots of helpful people. The place is addictive, esp' the photos of shiny shiny.
Ps those sovs are going to keep increasing in value imo. Grab one while you can before you're kicking yourself at next years price of £400 plus quid Then again the price might plummet, what do I know? Gold and silver, oh so pretty so who cares either way

True, recent sovereigns do look more like a copper penny than the esteemed gold sovereign I imagined myself owning as a kid ... but once you get over the copper colour, the tiny size, the fact that this years design isn't even St George slaying a dragon but some other design entirely, once you get over all of that and accept the current bunch of sovereigns don't look much like sovereigns at all, then all is good
Roll on next year, I can't wait to meet St George

The colour isn't so bad if you spend three hours getting the lighting just right for the photos Look at the pretties! Shiny shiny!

@FourNinesFine I ummed & arrr’d when a Sovereign was £330 odd, £375 means I’ll wait till people calm down.
I’ve grabbed one of Mox’s 100g bars, biggest item so far. Baby steps as they say, it’s one hell of a rabbit hole 🙈
