Most the world's population be them from the UK, Commonwealth countries or other have known no other UK monarch....thus should and when she pass it will affect many as she has been a fixture in our lives for long than most can remember....Charles will have very big shoes to fill...QEII will be missed but given she has spent all her life either in preparation or more so on the throne....she's done & given enough. I do hope she has more time ahead of her, but if family are heading to Balmoral, we've all had that call re a loved one and we know how it usually plays out. God Save the Queen. 👑

The Royal Tudor Beasts - Royal Mint Launch Event, Oct 7
Oddjob replied to westminstrel's topic in General Precious Metals
When dealing with a Govt...the simple fix (send in the incorrect COA...RM sends correct one out) which in all sense would be the cheapest safest and most cost effective for all does not get a run in the RM policy manual. Seems a universal Govt dept approach across the planet. -

Saw these today...not my usual bag when it comes to stacking but couldn't say no to these limited editions. Hot off the presses from Perth Mint. The "Sixty Years of James Bond" Family Coat of Arms. I wasn't a fan of RM 007 Bullion range but this one be it a Perth Mint offering does catch my fancy. Simple and elegant. Mintage 25,000 with only 1,000 carded. Also from Perth Mint..... "GAMES THROUGH THE AGES 2022 2oz SILVER ANTIQUED COIN".....First in the new series which sadly looks like I'm locked into now. Once again not my usual thing but this is just stunning and a full set...well...why the hell not. Mintage 2,500

Along with the likes of the "Magic Roundabout"...they came from an era where psychedelic drugs still fuelled kiddies TV production.
-
Depending on your definition of rare....some of the more modern QEII sovs had very low mintages (eg sub 5,000 or sub 10,000) in some years 80's/90's with some years seeing only proof quality issued...no bullion....prices ain't bad either....worth a look see.

So, whilst the UK has a Regency Act that has been updated over the centuries to take into account various situations regarding succession to English throne, if a minor acceded the throne but could not be be crowned till they were 18 years old, who's image would appear on the coinage of the UK and other countries???...The "to be" crowned minor, the Regent or would the prior monarch's image remain on the coins, notes and stamps until such time as the to be crowned minor became 18 and legally accedes the throne? Chances of this happening (with Charles and William next in line and unlikely to drop of the peg anytime soon) appear low to nil, but just a question that came to mind when reading another thread re Charles on the Soc coin one day.

G'Day and welcome. A great intro and welcome to slippery slope that is stacking and coin collecting.

5 quid sov's should come with a "Wealth Warning".....just like the old Pringles ad from the 1990's " Once you pop...you can't stop".
