  1. Slightly cheaper at BBP for the silver proof 50p, stock expected 15th December. https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/silver-proof-coins-and-sets/proof-50p-silver-coins/silver-proof-2022-50p-hp-express-boxed/
  2. Yeah, better to buy from a bullion dealer than has more focus on shipping / customer service in my experience.
  3. That's not good, mine arrived next day but then I didn't order direct from RM.
  4. I think it has just been added, had a look at BackyardBullion's videos on YT and that sentence is missing.
  5. Well spotted, it could just be a marketing ploy... time will tell.
  6. Mulled it over for a few days and decided to put my order in with Chards for the 1/2 Sovereign, amazing looking coin to add to the long term hold stack.
  7. Any idea when? I'd quite like to get the full set of proof sterling silver 50p's.
  8. Has the hype died down yet? I've resisted buying anything thus far.
  9. According to "The Gold Sovereign Series" 2021 edition: 1895 Melbourne: Mintage - 4,165,865 Rating - S (Scarce) 1900 London (Looks like from your photo, not 1890): Mintage: 10,846,741 Rating: C (Common) 1893 London*: Mintage: 6,898,260 Rating: C (Common) *Note. There are patterns by Allen Wyon dated 1893 of extreme rarity (WR339 and 340)
  10. Was looking to get a 1/2 sovereign but decided against it, I'll just wait for the bullion version. £375 works out at about £3,189 per oz? Seems a tad pricey.

    Insurance at home.

I'd prefer not to tell anyone, including an insurer, exactly what I have and where it is stored. Insurance is a waste of money IMO. Don't get me started on car insurance 😤

  13. I tested adding something (Carded 1/10 Gold Britannia) to the basket and it would have allowed me to buy with funds already added in there.
  14. Good shout, BBP have the prices listed on their site: Full Sovereign: £695 Half Sovereign: £375 Quarter Sovereign: £230 Three coin set: £1120 Five coin set: £5595 Piedfort: £1280 Five Sovereign piece: £2900 Please note The Royal Mint have advised these coins should be available in January 2023. https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/royal-mint-proof-collections/proof-her-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii-2022-commemorative-coin-range/
  15. Thanks, thinking it might be easier to add funds to my account beforehand as well to save time (and reduce probability of screw ups) during checkout... Just have to guess how much for the half Sovereign. https://www.royalmint.com/my-account/investment/add-funds-to-wallet/
  16. Thinking just the half Sovereign for me, I wonder if we will get to see the new design in advance of the 15th 🤣
  17. Anyone know how the queue system works for the RM website? I'm assuming it will just be from 9am on the 15th... lucky dip as to whether you get through in time.
  18. Oh I see, makes sense now. Think I'll go for the half Sovereign.
  19. In a historic moment for The Royal Mint’s flagship coin, the official coinage portrait of His Majesty The King will soon feature on a memorial edition of The Sovereign. King Charles III will become the fifteenth monarch and eleventh king to feature on the ‘chief coin of the world’, which has been associated with the British monarchy for centuries. In a poignant tribute to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this memorial edition of The Sovereign will also be dated 2022 and feature a rare change of reverse design. This a rare opportunity to own the second Sovereign of 2022, which launches on 15 November 2022 at 9am (GMT).

  21. Indeed we would. Most people think banks are a safe place to keep currency and don't worry about them going bust, preventing withdrawals. Maybe if more people understood inflation and fractional reserve banking they wouldn't be so trusting.
