Okay, I’m happy now. All sold out on website by 12:10. Took my chances and called the phone line at 12:11 and after a 5 min hold got through and managed to secure a 1oz Silver.

Me too. I’m gutted as I got the first coin, 1oz Silver, in this series and was hoping to collect the rest going forward. It’s going to have to be secondary market for me now…

So I have just opened mine and can also say I’m not overly impressed. it looks like the unicorn on mine has undergone a triple bypass operation. It’s really noticeable even from the naked eye Also, the plain edge of the coin is scuffed and the cardboard protective box has a disfigured tab meaning I can’t close it properly. The reverse looks to be fine and so does the rest of the fields / detail on the obverse. So it’s a real shame the damage is on such a central part… What are your thoughts on this? Return or keep, not sure I can be bothered with the hassle just to get a refund

Don’t think mine will be coming today after all. Tracking shows it’s still in transit from the main Cardiff MC to my local Cardiff DO since 2:00am this morning… 😅 More than happy to go collect it if knew it was there. Damn storm! I hope the wait is worth it and I’m not met with disappointment due to a bad coin / QC

Rain, shine or 50mph winds. My bet is he turns up in his (what Im assuming are mandatory issue) cargo shorts. But you are right it may impact Royal Mail’s whole system. Then again I’m fairly close to the mint so hoping it’s got to my local post distribution centre by tonight.

Just watched it. Well done for making this happen and feeding this all back to them. I haven't had any issues myself but time and time again seeing the quality of the stuff people are receiving from the RM on this forum, it makes me wonder how long until it happens to me. Really is a shame for all the people who have had issues with the coins they are receiving, and I hope as you said that anyone from the smallest spender to the biggest spenders with AM's are able to get their issues sorted.

I did the normal tour last year and got the SYO Decimal Day 50p, which I thought was great. I do really want to do the VIP tour though and get a SYO proof coin. Maybe if the Royal Mint had a break from releasing so many coins I could afford the petrol to drive the 30 mins from Cardiff to Llantrisant, let alone spending another £625 on a SYO sovereign. I've spent far too much this year (for me anyway) after buying a single proof, 3 coin set and the SOTD Sovereigns... 😆 That doesn't even count all the in between releases which I've just gone for in the 1oz or 2oz silver versions.
