IMHO the seller should not be able to get away with "Sovereign" in the title, but then specify half sovereign in the description. Buyer should be entitled to a refund.

does anyone have any idea what this could mean? Its a 1880 half sovereign shield. There's a slight smudge on the letter above the portrait, and this causes an indentation on the obverse, and the milled edge is smoother. There's no discernable weight difference.

thanks for the headsup: i had created the thread, with the pics uploaded but didn't post it right away - the photo upload must have timed out. i've fixed the pics, and there should be two 1903s, not three. -
