I ended up with a few free drinks out the Brinks Mat job. Me and a mate met up with a guy in a bar in Benidorm, insisted on buying us drinks all night, claimed it was his birthday, name was John Fleming,he had a villa in Calpe. Six months later I'm watching the 6 o'clock news and there he is, being escorted off a plane in handcuffs having been extradited from Miami! 😂

Good morning Kevin. Thanks for the advice. On the subject of the US mint, my attention has been drawn to the Eagle Type II. Does that have the same finish as the Buffalo? 

Thanks Kevin.I suppose I should try a few sovereigns, they just look a bit nondescript compared to the chunkier 1oz coins. I did buy 250oz of Silver Britannias, but jeez they take some space up storage wise.

How and under what circumstances I sell will depend on events obviously. For the moment I'm happy to diversify into Gold rather than have too much cash in the bank being eaten away by rampant inflation. To quote Rick Rule.. I view money in the bank as "Return free risk".

Why does the Buffalo have a more matt finish than the very shiny Britannias?

I am relatively new to stacking, having been collecting 1oz gold coins for about a year.Until now its mainly been Britannias', with a few Royal Arms and QBCs to add a little variation.
Today I received my first 1oz Gold Buffalo. I'm blown away by the beauty of this coin, it seems to have a less shiny finish than my other coins.Now I've got the bug, any suggestions for other 1oz coins to add to my collection which may improve my knowledge and enhance my stacking experience?

Hi Goldhawk. I know what you mean about the premium, goes against the grain a bit when compared with gold premiums. I've been buying gold Britannias for nearly a year now, just thought it was time I diversified into silver.Like you,I feel that converting fiat into real money will pay off in the long term.

I've finally bitten the silver bullet. Made my first purchase today. 250 1oz Britannias. 

"Ball ache" 😄 Its a while since I've heard that term. Pretty much sums up the palaver involved though.

Allow 3-5 days for funds to clear. Think I'll hold back for the moment.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'm just in the process of verifying my ID(problems with selfie) with Kinesis. When that's sorted I'll deposit some cash and convert it into silver. 

Currently awaiting two orders from Atkinsons. Tried to buy 5 Queens Beasts earlier, but they only had 4 in stock.

I've used ATS a few times. No problems whatsoever. 

This has turned into an eye opening discussion for me.I can't help but admire Craigy's value approach to price per ounce.I got as far as adding a 250 Silver Britannia pack to my basket with Atkinsons today, what gave me second thoughts was for around £100 or so more I could buy 5 Gold Britannias.It worked out to a Gold to Silver ratio of around 51 Didn't seem to make great financial sense.Am I missing something?
