Lifetime issue tetradrachm of Alexander III (the great) of Macedonia.

During Alexander's reign (336-323 BC) this coin was struck in the ancient city of Salamis, Cyprus during the time period of 332-323 BC.

These were high denomination coins struck most likely out of spoils of war to pay Alexander's vast military.

Added image of Salamis current day, really goes to show the age of this coin!

Not bad condition considering it was made ~2,350 years ago! However it is worn which is reflected in the price.

originally bought from coin dealer who picked it up from "numismata munich".

Selling to fund other interests.
