closed 1386 Azadi gold coin

1 Azadi gold coin, from Iran. Replaced the Pahlavi after the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Same gold content as a sovereign, .900 gold, 22.5mm diameter.

Retains its mint lustre with a BU finish, featuring the updated mosque design on the reverse, and Khomeini on the obverse.

The year written is 1386 (2007) however, this is the last dated year, they continued to be minted after this date, but continue to use this date.

Ah, fun fact: This could could have been minted any year from 2007-2022, as 1386 is the final date mark, the chance of it being one actually minted in 2007 is very slim.
