NGC PF 70 and NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo - difference?

RDHC

Recommended Posts

Really as per title. I have seen exactly the same coin with a hefty difference in asking price, both NGC PF 70,  but one has 'Ultra Cameo' on the case and the other does not. Is there a difference in grade or quality, certainly one that would justify the price difference? Enlightenment  much appreciated.

From the NGC website -

NGC uses Cameo and Ultra Cameo designations after the numeric grade to describe the degree of frost present on the design elements. If little or no frost is present, no designation will be used. (Note: Ultra Cameo is generally synonymous with Deep Cameo, another common term in the hobby.)

Generally Ultra Cameo coins are more desirable coins and will attract a higher premium.

Thank you. That's very helpful.

Just to add that

NGC use UCAM (Ultra)

PCGS use DCAM (Deep)

I don’t believe there is any difference, different words for the same strike.

Best

Thank you. It all adds to my knowledge.
