10 oz Queens Beasts boxed set and date run of Britannias

Hello

I am working my way through selling my silver and have had excellent responses from Forum members

I am a bit stuck now as I cannot find a realistic price for my set of 10 oz Queens Beasts and my date run of Britannias (1997/2021) together with all the varieties including the edge privies (13 apart from the pig.)

I would not want to split the Beasts - can any help with a realistic valuation for these two lots?

Any help would be appreciated.

Frank

The 10 oz beasts set - £3000 sounds about right for an average of the earlier ones appreciation and the later releases lower prices.

Not sure on the Britannia's though, sorry!

£3,000 sounds a bit low, more like £3,300 at least.

However maybe best to hold off for a few months the price is unlikely to go down very much, and IMHO go up by around £1 an ounce

Brits, i've got the run from '98-'22, 25 coins total and i reckon they are worth £800-£1000 depending on condition, although if you tried to put the set together i would expect it to cost more than £1k.

The '97 was proof only and that coin is worth quite a bit more on it's own.

ps i wouldn't sell mine though unless i got considerably more than £1k and i have no plans to sell currently.

It's my opinion and they are worth what somebody is prepared to pay for them, I'd be interested in any other views.

Absolutely they're worth what someone is prepared to pay.

Let's for a moment discount the fact it's a "complete set" (and therefore attractive to collectors) and that one coin is a proof. A tube of 2021 Brits from BBP would set me back £708 all in as of right now. So £700 is what they're worth if considering them as bullion. What's the proof run at? £100 ish? So we're around £800 - but a collector will pay more I'm sure. Sure way to find out is list them for sale on here. Ebay opens a huge audience but beware the size of the pie they take - double digit percentage!

If you get the discounted seller offer on eBay then you know the drill.
It will be much more time consuming and laborious, but definitely a much better return, splitting the Britannias and selling individually.
Maybe list here rather than eBay unless you have the £1.00 selling offer or similar otherwise the deductions will hurt your net receipts.
However shifting 20 + coins individually may not be worth the effort and inconvenience according to your circumstances.
Personally I have rarely seen a set of anything sell for what a set collector thinks it is worth.
Finally I would hesitate selling any silver right now unless there is a really good reason as it is too low according to my tea-leaves.

Thanks Pete

I've sold a lot at the current prices, but maybe you are right and I should hold off a bit.

I always felt that sets were better than individual coins, but my experience indicates that you are correct.
