Koalas

Is there any love for the Perth Mint Koalas? 

I have a couple of them floating about at the moment but I haven't seen too much about them on the forum recently

Yes I like them. I have a set of each in BU guise and various duplicates set aside as part of my bullion stack. I don't like the HR proof versions though.

I don't really like the 2014 koalas, but have some 10oz ones as they were cheap.

Early ones are horrible in my opinion.

I like the early ones, an unusual texture.

koala's compete against kooks and amongst other

things the limited maximum mintage help sway it in

the kooks favour especially as they are so closely

priced. I like some of the koala designs.

Limited mintage from 2016 for the koalas so there will be fewer koalas than kooks.

For most years, the Koala mintage is actually less than that for the Kooks, and yes, planned maximum for 2016 is 300k as against 500k for kooks.
