Noah's Ark 2011 coins

OK, so furst up I am still kicking myself for not getting the 1 ounce 2011 coins when I had the chance. Doh!

I have a tube of 20 ½ and a tube of 20 ¼ ounce coins from 2011.

Final mintages were:

Half ounce             33,965

Quarter Ounce      46,679

(For ref the 1 ounce ended on 351,145)

I have 2012 1 ouncers (20) - 457,578

So - to get round to my question.... has the premium on the very low mintage 2011 coins increased at all??? Assuming no milk spots (Checked mine recently and they are OK) or toning. Have they gained anything yet? I expected them to. But didn't want to commit that much cash back then, I wasn't sure where life was taking me. Hence not getting the 1 ouncers.

I find this a very hard one to call. On the one hand they are first year very low mintage BU coins... On the other they are just plain old bullion. So where does it land?

I would assume they haven't increased much, the design is the same each year. Most people collecting won't bother about which year they have, sure there will be people collecting a full date run, but not as much people as those collecting Pandas and Kooks. Also the amount of people collecting 1/2 ounce silver coins is a lot lower than those collecting 1 ounce coins.

I would like to get a 1oz Noah's ark for the collection, but I am not convinced they are great investments.

Chris they are a very sound investment my friend, first of all its 1oz of fine silver and we are all here for one reason only and that is to make money, make money for the future. We are all hoping we all jumped on the right band wagon and invested are hard earned money into silver and what ever you think will make money.

I have many Noah's and they are going to be a coin that people will want to buy in the future, compared to the maples and the eagles the Noah's are much nicer coin and have a nice proof like finish. Chris go and buy them you will not be disappointed and when silver goes to moon  your Noah's would have turned out to be a sound investment as they are one of the cheapest coins to buy.

all the best .

Sorry silverroller, when I said I was not convinced they are great investments I meant in comparison to semi numismatic bullion.

Sure all silver is a good investment, but I do believe some is better than others, as some have the potential to grow in value even if spot price has not. I.e pandas, lunars etc.

That's just my opinion and my strategy is mainly semi numismatic stuff. But I do understand that lots of other people take a different view. Some people have a strategy to buy bullion as close to spot.

I personally think the best investments are the ones which have a combination of good price, high demand, and limited mintages.

I have a date run of these, and I paid around £22 for my 2011 coin.

Could probably have got it cheaper, but when I want something I have to have it immediately. Ha ha
