Israel still suits America and the West until the last soviet influence on ME fades away. It's not fading away, however. Decolonisation is a monster America unleashed themselves, but the numerous pan-Arabic movements, Islamic Revoluition ideologies, were a creation of USSR, outlast USSR, and is now taken over by China etc.
However, there's a difference between "suits America" and "supported by America". America has made numerous diplomatic errors in the 20th century, the biggest of which was giving China away so they were taken over by the socialists. It was also a huge mistake not to stand with the Pahlavis.
Yes that's what I mean by ignoring the warrants. 
And we need Israel more than Israel needs us. So we'd better hope America sticks with their support. Iran, Hezbollah, Houthis, etc won't suddenly become friendly to us if we drop our support for Israel. They'll look at the Mediterranean next.
Edit: re Blair war might be the least of his crimes. His sysmatic butchering of British tradition and national identity is only the more appaling. He was not alone in believing something had to change for the new millennium, and things did change though for the worse. I wanted to call this millennialism, but found it was already used for a certain Christian denomination. I'd like to call this neo-millennialism. And it seems to get worse by the day. 

But that means the discussion about the fair distribution of wealth is only available for those paying.

Anyone who thinks setting a cap to what people can own is a bright idea has no notion of what makes us humans tick. Organized 'wealth distribution' by politicians leads to dictatorship.
Chilling to even contemplate the absurdity of it. As others have noted, this is the sort of rhetoric that leads to the slippery slope of maoist, naxalite and French Revolution style head-chopping parties.

Still, place two countries on earth, one with this so called citizens' panel and one without. People simply flee from the former to the latter. The only way this crazy idea could be implemented is a concerted effort by all governments in the world, ie. internationalism, another idea championed by Marx an Co. This is why I never liked the idea that any country should be the one true world power (like US), because then a world government becomes more likely. 
A world government will inevitably lead to diluted voting rights, open borders, and hence communist dictatorship. This is because one safeguard of democracy and freedom, the boundary (as @silversky agrees), will be broken. Where's the citizens' panel when citizenship is no more?

Yes £1550 is of course a psychological barrier, and when 'broken', it's not unusual to see periodic fast drops and recoveries thereafter - in this instance I suspect to potentially £1530-40, subject £/$ rates of course.
I'm relaxed even if that doesn't happen, but since we've seen price variations of over £65/oz in the last month alone, so I'm happy to mainly observe for now,
I just like to maintain a minimum % of my investments in gold for both insurance and monetary preservation purposes, and use surplus income and/or a % of other asset class disposals to maintain my preferred percentage in  gold/other PM's.
