  1. I've been considering buying gold from the Austrian Mint but there are a few things I'm taking into consideration. I've read mixed reviews from people on Google regarding their experience of buy from them, both online and at the shop in Vienna. Also postage isn't cheap, €25 to have items delivered from Austria to the UK. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience of buy from the Austrian Mint and if there's anything else I should know?
  2. Now including free postage via Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery.
  3. 1 oz Royal Mint Una and the Lion Silver Bar. £40, free postage via Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery. Payment via bank transfer.
  4. @SovereignBishop No probs, I'll PM you in a few minutes 👍
  5. A few silver items for sale: - 10 oz Royal Canadian Mint Bar - £255 - SOLD 1 oz 2014 Silver Eagle Type 1 - £26.50 - SOLD 1 oz 2023 Silver Eagle Type 2 - £26.50 Plus postage for the bar via RMSD.
  6. I'll take the Scottsdale Vortex bar please 👍
  7. In a month's time, I plan to buy more gold. I am currently considering a 2 oz gold lunar tiger coin from the Perth Mint. It looks like a stunning coin and bigger coins have a better diameter when comes to their design. However, what I am thinking about is whether it will hold it's premium on the long-term and whether I will find a buyer, should I wish to sell it one day. I'm also aware that it won't be CGT exempt but this isn't a deal breaker for me at the moment. Here's a link for the coin: https://www.ukbullion.com/2022-2oz-lunar-iii-tiger-gold-coin.html Alternatively, I could just buy two 1 oz pieces of gold and I particularly have my eye on two at the moment. One is the 2023 Gold Britannia QEII coin (which will be CGT exempt) and the other is a Gold Heraeus kinebar. I currently own the 2023 Gold KCIII Britannia, so the QEII Britannia will complete a small set. I also happen to own one 1 oz kinebar already but I love the holographic design on the back so much that I fancy another one. Any thoughts?
  8. I planned to buy some gold in about a month's time, but the price of gold has sharply increased over the past few weeks. What I've been wondering is if the price of gold stays high, will it still be worth buying gold? Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this. There is always the the possibility that the price might drop slightly at some point. Likewise, the price of gold might stay high or perhaps go up even more.

    Fake bars ?

Yes they're definitely fake. Firstly, it's £750 for 2 gold bars, there's no way that 2 oz of gold is worth £750. Secondly, genuine Perth Mint bars have a mat finish. Those look too glossy to be genuine.
  10. I have the coin in your profile pic too, but as a 1 oz coin. Lovely design. I do like a 10 oz piece of silver, very satisfying when you feel the weight of it. I'm happy with my new purchase 👍
  11. I've heard of Englehard, apparently their bars are quite sought after
  12. I've decided which one to get and I've gone for a Kookaburra. An awesome and beautiful coin, very pleased with it 👍
  13. I would say your price ranges are more reasonable. I think I would be more comfortable buying something closer to the spot price. The Una and the Lion bars are stunning, don't get me wrong, but I would rather have bang for your buck than something speculative with no guarantee it'll hold its premium. For this reason, I've decided it's now between either Britannias or Kookaburras. The dealers are a tad more expensive so perhaps I see if I can get these cheaper on TSF.
  14. Just interested to see what people's opinions are on this. I'm looking to buy a 10 oz piece of silver, which will either be the new Una and the Lion bar, a Britannia coin or a Kookaburra coin. I have found that on the Royal Mint website, the new Una and the Lion bar is £322.08 (including VAT) and a 10 oz Kookaburra is around £280 both on TSF and with dealers. I also considered 10 oz silver Britannia coin (around £280 from dealers or perhaps less on TSF) as it will be CGT exempt, but there is the issue of milk spots on Royal Mint silver, which I have found is the case with a couple of my own pieces of silver. It will probably be less likely that a Kookaburra is less likely to milk spot than the Britannia coin or the Una and the Lion bar. Plus, I collect Kookaburras. A few questions: - Is it worth spending a bit extra for the Una and the Lion bar? - Is it Kookaburra less likely to develop milk spots? - Should I get a Britannia coin, regardless of whether it milk spots or not?
  15. Back on sale now. Change from "withdrawn" to "for sale". 👍
  16. Does anyone happen to know where I can buy silver eagles from specific years or if anyone on the forum sells eagles from specific years? I'm a stacker when it comes to silver eagles. What I don't have is one from 1989. If anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Prices reduced on both items. Bar reduced by £10 and coin reduced by £2.50. 👍
  18. What I meant by a stack was having a collection of gold and silver in the first place. Correct me if I'm wrong but I suppose your definition of a stack is building up collection of any gold and silver bullion, no matter what it is or what it looks like. I've been investing in gold and silver for about a year and a half now and have been learning about what I personally look for in a collection. I like to think of myself as both a stacker and a collector. On one hand, I recently bought 5 VAT free silver eagles at a discount on Atkinsons Bullion for stacking purposes. On the other hand, I recently sold a 1/4 gold philharmonic coin so I could buy a 1/4 oz gold coronation coin. It just depends on what mood I'm in. For me, I like to keep my gold for as long as possible to hedge against inflation, maybe even to go above inflation. Although now and again, I might see something which I believe is worth having in my collection, so I'll either go ahead and buy it or I'll sell some bullion pieces to obtain it.
  19. Item and price: 10 oz James Bond 007 Diamonds Are Forever silver bar - £250 plus postage Condition notes: Good condition. The 10 oz silver bar has a small dent on the top right hand corner on the "007" side, but apart from that the rest of the bar is in good condition. Please see photos below to see the condition of the bar. Item Location: UK Shipping destinations: UK only Payment Terms: Payment by bank transfer in GBP only. Photos:
  20. Yes I'll consider selling it privately. This was before I became a TSF member, so at least I've learnt something from that experience. Also, it was a bar that I sold and people on the forum don't trust bars, particularly minted bars, as much as coins as they are more counterfeited. No harm in trying though 👍
  21. As mentioned earlier, I traded in my 1 oz gold bar so I can buy a 1 oz gold Queen's Beast coin. It was a White Horse of Hanover coin. I originally bought my gold bar for £1708 and got back £1576. So that means I made a loss of £132. That's what I meant by not wanting to do it all the time. However, I'll occasionally do it if I think there's something worth buying.
