In germany it's probably the maple leaf or krugerrand. Now that I am thinking about it... Isn't it curious that Germany doesn't have a trademark 1oz bullion silver of its own? Maybe because of the metric system? But why are there 1kg denominations of the kookaburra and why has Malta now its own 1oz (I will post them, once they arrive).

    Hi there fellow stacker's,
A couple of weeks ago I decided to get back into aquiring silver, mostly for retirement in 30 or so years, to diversify my portfolio. I dont plan on making the mistake and call it an "investment", since I don't plan on selling it until then unless I have to...
From where I stand it looks like this: economic growth (ie resource depletion and energy consumption) can't go on forever and people in their 30s will see a time of stagnation and shrinking and let's face it: it might be a good thing for humanity. Silver and gold always gave me something an etf or share cant: a fuzzy feeling when I open the vault, I am sure many can relate. I think silver will be needed in key industries for a long time so it won't lose value to a certain extent. If there are other enthusiasts from Germany I am happy to get in touch =)
Latest aquisition: tube of Noah's arc, tube of new gen cook islands and a couple of Kookaburra's.
