  1. Sorry to hear this, I have only ever sold coins to them, they have always guaranteed the price on the day they quote, regardless of spot price movement. They always paid what they promised and I’ve had good service, I guess it must be different for scrap gold and jewellery because it has to be appraised on arrival, I always sell jewellery and scrap to a local shop who always beat any price quoted online.
  2. Hi, welcome to the forum. Best of luck with your stacking journey.
  3. Yes mate, I don’t remember them either, we are too old, I did however collect rubbers (erasers!) not Johnnys! 😑 just like the ones mentioned in my all time favourite YouTube video, if you are a gentleman “of a certain age” this really makes you feel old. ❤️
  4. I would assume (hopefully) that as his account has already been marked for fraud with one member already refunded that the banks would have a system in place that they can see these fraud reports even from different banking groups.
  5. This bag of sweets has caused quite a stir 🤨
  6. Best of luck with this challenge, you may have already done this but it would be best to move the balances from the credit cards to a 0% one if possible so you aren’t spending any money on interest in the next 12 months. I can also recommend reading the book “The richest man in Babylon” I think it’s now available in PDF for free on the internet somewhere (save spending any money on it)
  7. Well, I am going to make a compensation claim to RM and get your postage back 😘
  8. I’m after a nice 1911, 1912, or 1913, if you come across any of those while you are looking 😉
  9. Halal too, that’s a bonus!
  10. Great news on the return of your money, let’s hope the other members have theirs returned swiftly.
  11. No idea what it proves, it just confirms my face matches the photo ID, so just as many checks took place as with a high st bank.
  12. If i remember right it was photos of front and back of driver’s licence then I had to upload a video of myself reading text and they did a credit search that showed on my credit report as a search.
  13. I have High St bank accounts and also a starling account which is mainly for online purchases or car parks/toll roads, to open the account I had to provide photo ID proof of address and a video of myself reading some text so they could verify I was who I said I was.
  14. I think he was implying you may be a rent boy
  15. It’s still frustrating, one thing to consider is that these people usually have multiple accounts, so he/she/they/them/it may still be lurking here, reading this thread, plotting some more scams or just seeing if they got away with it.
  16. Sweet sender lives in London, which is a pity. We don’t stand for this sh*te up North.
  17. We have to be careful, nobody wants to end up with the worlds most expensive packet of sweets!
  18. Payment sent for 1 eagle to go into the pot, best of luck to everyone that was scammed.
  19. It appears that this scammer managed to appear legitimate by selling some goods to gain Positive feedback over an 18 month period. Looking at the profile in hindsight the red flags were that they never interacted on the forum apart from sales listings and they only ever sold things and never bought anything. Maybe there needs to be some restrictions on how low feedback members can sell items, maybe provide proof of address or photo of DL or passport to admins before sales listings are approved.
