I did have a few bars, which we've now got in Indonesia.  The production process is much the same as coins - planchets are cut out of strips of gold and stamped in a press.  Sometimes the bars also have serial numbers stamped onto them.

At current spot, 20g is a bit rich for most folks, but I guess they're expecting to get punters for them.  Maybe rich Saudis.  PAMP put out a wide range of that sort of stuff, too.

Sorry to jump in on the thread but are you doing shipping orders?😁 stunning workmanship and if you could slip another 5-10g in your handbag I’d be very grateful. If I don’t ask……

yeah i get that. nominal sizes and tolerance are what i'm focussing on. as long as i can eek out a good 3D model that works (with printer and coin), then i'm happy

Does it have a aperture/ dispersal width from the machine manufacturer?
Will give you an offset to size.

And to think that this started as an innocent DM to a helpful couple of members, asking if they needed anything printed to say thanks for advice 🤣

Sorry fella. Just ocd kicks in. I’ll leave.

A member has suggested a pocket size tester for sovs. all 3D printers print slightly differently and aren't as precise as you'd want when it comes to dimensional accuracy. i obviously have several mitutoyu digital verniers, but the object here, is for me to produce a pocket jig using my 3D printer, for someone else to accurately spot a fake sov or half sov (dimensionally) without carrying a caliper. this thing i'm knocking up is to tell me what CAD size a sovereign hole is in comparison to what i tell my printer to print

I used to program CNC Lasers as part of my job 20 odd years ago

Lumonics Laser from 20 years ago😁

This is quite similar with scales.

Relatively, yes. Once I’ve designed the tube and lid itself, I’d have to take a logo and convert it to a 3D file and then merge the 2. Hope that makes sense

Appreciate you are a fine engineer but maybe look at the cost of raw material, print time cost and whether you can get a clear material for tubes. Might be a little expensive. Just my uneducated opinion of course.

No decent logo file. Need a high resolution one to make it worthwhile. No point in adding logo if it looks c**p. Also, wouldn’t use logo without chris’ permission

Exactly. I wouldn’t do it without his permission as you know mate

    Definitely permission-no dispute.

BYB has a logo and maybe suitable.
