  1. Can I have the 3 cheap ones
  2. The way it is going, I can see the 17 hundreds again so no rush to buy.
  3. That photos makes it difficult to make a clear decision. It would be better if you linked the eBay page address so that we can see if there are better photos by the seller. From what I can see, it looks OK. Always best to be able to see both sides. You don't say if it is a sovereign of a half
  4. Incredible what one can achieve if they stick to a plan. Congratulations.
  5. Happened before my time and not bought on this forum
  6. Cheers @JamesH I gave argent a link where to buy and also another member has posted that he has one to sell. The edge knock makes this coin a no no for collection. For stacking it is ideal, CGT 24ct gold at spot.
  7. Selling this 2020 1/4oz Gold Standard coin at spot. These usually have a decent premium, but due to someone dropping it (before I got it), will be sold at spot. The coin looks good in hand, but under magnification there is some marks where it is slightly stained and obviously an edge knock near the left scale. Listing will stay up if not sold until until 9pm Sunday £469 + Post ( Using BBP and HGM for Spot Price) (SOLD) Spyder
  8. For sale today is this two coin set to celebrate the big wedding of 1981. Both coin in nice proof condition in original Royal Mint Case. Machin proof coins are now fetching +£700 in top 70 grade. The crown is going for +£50 £500 + postage due to weight of case will be £9. Might consider selling crown and case and keeping the sovereign Spyder

    Which gold

When you are ready to buy next, I will sell you a half sovereign or sovereign at spot posted
  10. Spyder

    Which gold

In that case, buy two half sovereigns from different members and you would have two packages to open
  11. Having read a little about this, these are test coins that are handed around so they get scratched and sometimes even dropped so will never be perfect
  12. Having looked at the video and read the listing, I can not see much wrong here. A little annoying for those who wanted to bid. Negotiations were already in the process prior to the auction. OP decided to list as an auction as he already had minimum price that had been offered, too many PM telling him he was doing it wrong so decided to end the auction. Yes a bid went in, but he did end it quite quickly. It would have been another story had the auction run for a few hours and many bids, but it did not. Like been said, it was previous listed as BIN price. All other members had the chance to buy it then or try and negotiate a deal. At the end of the day nothing is legally binding and a seller chooses who to sell to. I remember an auction that went to the end and was pulled as price seller wanted was not reached. It leaves a bad taste but everyone moves on and another deal is just around the corner.
  13. It still seems cheaper to just buy off the forum, unless you are after those particular rounds
  14. Have you a rough guess how much you are looking to pay for a gold Standard. I know that I have one, but would have to go pick up near Eastbourne
  15. Definitely, looks in good condition, hair and broach can be seen.
  16. From memory, HGM still adds 20% VAT even on 2nd hand silver
  17. That would have to stay as a set and a specialist auction house might be the best bet
  18. From Hatton Garden, it is only another 10-15 minute walk towards Charring X and few dealers near there. Look at this site and write down the addresses of where you might want to visit https://coinhunter.co.uk/coin-dealers/?loc=london
  19. What do members make of this coin. I have recently noticed a few Half Sovereign fakes with the Sydney mint mark in uncirculated condition. This one is on eBay at the moment for a crazy high price of £470. Apart from strange lines on the coin and looks like a die gouge near the B.P, what really stands out is that you can almost see a date above the horse head that looks like 187 and another number that is not clear.
  20. The link goes to the US site rather then the UK.
