  1. If there's one thing that should be taught to folk, Its Over pay your mortgage. Even small amounts if started early enough can have a massive impact. Put me in a position of paying off some of mine almost 10 years ahead of the term.
  2. And there it was, Gone.
  3. That's the way to stack. An amazing achievement. You've got time now to get another two to finish off the other 7 years of your goal. Well done.
  4. Yep It was a lovely bar and as mentioned prior, The seller can sell to who ever he wants.
  5. I'm over it. I was really annoyed at the time and it was only rekindled when you stated no body wanted it in your vid. Not sure if you were aware of the auction. However, Honestly I don't know why anyone would agree a sale having started an auction, let alone waiting 30 min's to withdraw the auction after agreeing to sell through private messages so the rest of the forum were unaware. I bid as soon as I saw the auction and it was still live as I typed. I'm more than happy with the purchases I made as a result of not buying the bar/ square. I do feel OP acted quite disingenuous, and as such the resulting banter should be expected. After all you wouldn't expect to turn up at a auction house and part way through the auction or bidding the auctioneer say's thanks to those that have left bid's or bid be we've already sold it. I know on occasion, items are pulled but this is done with Immediate effect, if for what ever reason an item is pulled. I'm sure you can understand that if auctions on the forum were usually run this way, were a private message and sale agreement could stop an auction mid flow, nobody would bother bidding. What would be the point, only for it to be cancelled. Moving on I feel OP got less than he could have and I know for a fact that I was prepared at the time to go to £3,700 (£740 a kilo, as per my wanted ad). So in my eyes he's only done himself out of funds.
  6. Withdrawn, I've sold to someone else for 0.99p Changed my mind, not for sale any more.
  7. I bought it for the little one. It's hers. If I ever sold it she would never speak to me again. I call her my little princess and she really believes she is. She had it when she was 3 and what other little one has a carriage like that if they're not a real princess right. There is some footage of it from it's first use back in 1953/4 In Anglesey but here's a few pictures from it's early days.
  8. I think @Paul your costings on the initial post explain why myself and a couple other have decided to purchase already. At the time I bought my 1oz Brit at £1,850 it was under spot. Anyway, To close April out I have already bought as part of this Christmas savings club, pushing me in to the red. As and update I bought 1oz 2014 Britannia @ £1,850.00 1937 sovereign PF63 @ £3,000.00 So my spends for the savings club outside my normal collecting are £4,850.00. To date, From the proceeds of clearing out sheds and surplus MTG Collection I have made net sales of £1,481.20 Leaving me in the red for -£3,368.80

    Which gold

Just keep an eye on the premiums. Another buying tip may be to hold off buying every week if the price is high but put the funds aside ready for a little downward movement and then you may also get a bulk buy discount.
  10. At the end of the day It's only fiat and metal. The smaller kilos are most likely better anyway.
  11. It's Fine. OP can sell to whom ever he want's Just felt it was a bit of bad form. No ill feelings to @BackyardBullion Think he's genuine and may have not even known about the auction. It was up for sale prior. But why cancel the auction if it went in the end for my starting bid.
  12. Ended up with 8 my old chap, and an ounce brit. along with 5 sovereigns. Even posted them on TIR
  13. A nice double 1989 from @Thomast Many thanks
  14. If only we could contact Either @ChrisSilver or @AdminSupport for you but not sure if that can be done. Gold still £50 ish down on the week.
  15. Could I get a bag of full sovereigns please. PM me with details. 🧐
  16. Forum was incredibly slow earlier. Any problems a foot @ChrisSilver
  17. @Sovhead Not sure of what has transpired but any and all deals I've had with @Orpster has always ended with my complete satisfaction. Send him a message.
  18. Think @James32 hit the nail on the head. In so much as the half's have a slightly higher premium. I would add that when I started the full were easier to come by. Not sure if this was a local anomaly to me or not. However, there are more variations of the full over the half so date runs might be easier to find in the full sovereign over the half. Certainly halves become rarer the further back you go, especially for certain years. Another good idea if your going to concentrate on sovereigns is to pick up a reference book. I have this It's proved worth it's weight in fiat.
  19. I like bars, @James32 you buying much lately.
  20. Not wanting to imply anything but the pic above is a gif of a football team hugging.
  21. Was going to tag @Spyder but gone.
  22. Most likely not bother for the time being. At some point in time I would love to fetch the collection together and work out a way to store them but still be able to display them, so they can be viewed and enjoyed. Hoarding them in a small box in a vault seems to me to not be doing justice to them. They were in essence a coin for circulation.
