I would have thought that HSBC had more to worry themselves about than poking their nose into the Brexit issue.
Perhaps they should have poked their noses a little further into the Colombian & Mexican drug cartels laundering their money through their banks.
The USA fined them $1.3 billion for that
Not that it is anything new for HSBC, they founded the inital banks wealth in the from the 1700s facilitating the movement of opium from India to China, so business as usual

COULD - the key word - COULD
So the the flip side, that headline could be be read as
HSBC : Brexit might not knock 20% off sterling

another positive start for gold for the week - creeping up nicely (again!)
Is the 'mega smack down' button on the paper traders keyboards broken ?
This is most unusual

Well as the dust begins to settle for the week and the markets come to close for the weekend
Looking back on this past week after a little turbulence down, we have still not had the mega smack down, and looks like we are going to end the week another bit higher and more positive
Sat Jan 9th - £760 Sat Jan 16th - £763 Sat Jan 23rd - £769 Sat Jan 30th - £784 Sat Feb 6th - £809 Sat Feb 13th - £852 Fri Feb 19th (today) - climbing nicely today currently sat @ £862 Hopefully this month of support and gains means the bottom is in and not going back down any time soon - what do you think ??

Just this time yesterday we were at £824 = £868 today ( +5.35% / £+44.11 )
Better than a years worth of fiat interest earned in the bank, made in a day with a 'barbarous relic'

https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-price/5year/ounces/GBP/
I'm just looking at the 5 year gold chart on BBP
We are almost in exact same position give or take a couple of quid/days, date for date as five years back
07/02/2011 gold is £851 11/02/2016 gold now is £849 I wonder if the gold bull run up to £1160+ in the September is set to repeat ???
Looking back at that year 2011 on the graph aside from a few tiny down days gold kept going up and up
As @Pipers says above, we are not short of reasons why we shouldnt expect a higher gold price (not that we werent in 2011 either)

Being too keen to work hard doing all holiday cover, overtime & weekend in 2012 / 2013 didn't help the stack average one bit
a first world problem though i guess
