  1. That's nice to hear. I agree, there's real help available when needed, although I understand getting that help can be a minefield of limited resources in some areas. I've gone a bit off-topic. I keep thinking about Megan Fox for some reason. Worse things to think of
  2. I ripped my ankle ligaments a while back. The A&E doctor couldn't speak english and needed an asian nurse to use as a translator. He diagnosed a sprain. I had to go back to A&E the next morning to get a proper diagnosis, and the right treatment including meds, crutches and physio therapy. Then again a month ago my Mrs had a cancer scare and was treated within two weeks flat. It all turned out ok, false alarm, something less serious, but wow were the NHS quick to react. I'm ambivalent. Some NHS departments, awesome. Some, you end up worse than when you went in.
  3. Haha! I had one mate years back who'd go in a club's bog looking like Rambo and come out looking like Megan Fox.
  4. It would be lovely to live in a society of inherent empathy for all but we don't and I doubt we ever will. Expecting the world, online or off, to support you or anyone else in the way you want it to never works. Inner strength and self reliance does, along with a rhino quality skin, mastering the art of the over head whoosh, and training your fingers to not respond to silly comments online. Not worth the aggro.
  5. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm probably overly cautious. In a few months I may be buying them from all over the shop
  6. 12 sovs per year. First year stacking. Just bought no 6 a month in front. I might end up with 13 come December so better buy two for Christmas!
  7. My stamp collection consisted of a bag of 1000 stamps for a quid. I stuck them in my album. Proud. I was 7. Looks like it's Costco again. For all its faults at least I won't be sold a Sexton Blake
  8. Oh lol. This new fangled internet
  9. Same here. No FB, never heard of IG. No insta, I do have twitter. You Tube is great, I've bought items I'd never think of buying until some charismatic geezer got me interested in them. That's how I got into most of the hobbies I've wasted money on. YT is defiantly a good hook to sell stuff to people who otherwise wouldn't bother.
  10. So I may end up with a fake sovereign baring the exact size, weight and composition of a gen sov? I should have stuck to stamp collecting. I'm on my travel laptop atm. 11" screen. Five minutes I go myopic. I am? I mean, I am! Thanks. I think.
  11. Fairs and festivals too! People get so giddy at those places they'll buy anything before realising they've spent too much
  12. I read a few pages. Clear as mud I'm still none the wiser (I did skim) If a sov is the right size and weight how can it be fake? I thought only tungsten has the right density compared to gold. Any (simple) info appreciated.
  13. Congratulations on becoming your own boss. Not having someone over you always banging on is, well as Willy Wallace put it FReeEEEEeeeeedooOOOoooMMmmmm. And I'd not rule any platform out when it comes to self promotion, get it out everywhere
  14. Gold is gold. I'd like to get into the half n quarter sovs but my local retailer doesn't stock them and I hate mail order delivery for anything. The gold fever is high this morning I'll feel satiated when I pop into Costco and grab a coin later
  15. Mental health is more important than worrying about 50p on a bag of spuds. Screw the economy, I'm buying a sov!
  16. Her eyes glaze over as soon as I open my gob, there's no chance
  17. I tell her it'll come good for our future OAP cash-in but all she see's is what we spent on gold up to now is more than its currently worth. We only started stacking 3 months back. I'm happy enough. I want to buy more A lot more!
  18. The Mrs is moaning gold is getting cheaper than when we bought it. I'm just happy to get a few quid off my next purchase
  19. My wife says gold is gonna get cheaper and she's never wrong.
  20. Until you get your coins back in worse condition than before you sent them away to be graded. Burned and covered in hair. I'm waiting for someone to post a pic of half a jam butty wedged in their coin slab they just got back.
  21. My thought in every workplace I've ever been in.
  22. Thanks for the thoughtful post MNLCoins. I'm always expecting pot luck with coin condition, new or old, although I do expect the 2022s I buy to be in pretty good condition. I'm starting a old sov pile of bullion in any condition soon so that'll take any stress out of me receiving a knacker through the post.
  23. I know hardly anything about coins but I read the 2022 plat jub sovs are semi numis. Not sure if that's right but either way I want my 'brand new' sovs looking brand new, bullion or not. Sounds like this year's bullion sov might be more valuable than just bullion.
  24. And here's me handling my sovs with cotton gloves and placing them on a felt pad so they don't get damaged Why do I bother?
