  1. 4 Sov's from Nigel Montgomery (for those that know him)
  2. How much posted @Gordy - on both just the yellow and all three Thanks
  3. Does anyone have a couple of Royal Mint sovereign tubes they would sell. I can get them for £7.99 from Royal Mint so would be looking for that price to be beaten. I would prefer the yellow top ones (as below) but would settle for the grey. Maybe someone has had a tube of 1/4oz silver brits and stuck them in capsules, its the same tube

    At Buyers Risk

    At Buyers Risk

Would be interested to know when sellers would refund the money of a lost item, Royal Mail will sometimes want to contact the buyer and always ask the seller (claimant) for the buyers contact details. Is there a risk if the buyer has already had their refund they will not participate? On some forums if I sell something to a stranger I would not pay till Royal Mail are satisfied, if they decide for any reason not to honour the claim I would still cover the loss to the buyer but only once the claims process is complete. On here that may not be the case, but this is a very different environment. A new buyer or member I may take that stance but established and time served members I suspect I would cover the loss pretty much straight away on the proviso they both play ball with Royal Mail and return the coin to me should it ever turn up if the claim is rejected. Should the coin turn up after the claim has been settled by RM...........never considered that. I think I would leave it up to the buyer but given I had my money back I think the buyer should keep the item.
  6. I completely agree and we are not the only people who believe this. The known examples of the medallic die alignment are in single figures You may find this article on Drake Sterling interesting - https://www.drakesterling.com/news/post/pcgs-graded-sovereign-from-1872-m-with-medallic-die-alignment?fbclid=IwAR3BD9bA8yJz00HFRElrQaMxd4pf8yOl5M7OmUn-FtklJarLEhEQ79M15i4 There is also mention of them in the Bentley collection catalogue. I have a hard copy of this and you can see the same die clash as well!
  7. How about this lovely Canadian dollar for £50 https://www.royalmint.com/shop/world/1961-Elizabeth-II-Silver-Canadian-Dollar/ Caught my eye as there is an eBay seller who will ship you one from Canada for less than half the price They have a few crackers in world coinage, especially what they charge for bank notes. As an example this Isle of Man £1 note for £75 https://www.royalmint.com/shop/banknotes/Queen-Elizabeth-II-1990-Isle-of-Man-1-Banknote/ Then the same note on eBay Shocking. The other end of the scale this Hong Kong 1975 $1000 for £3215 https://www.royalmint.com/shop/monarch/queen-elizabeth-ii/Queen-Elizabeth-II-Hong-Kong-1975-Gold-Proof-1000/ Cant see a recent sale of this year (last one I can see was in a Coin Cabinet auction in 2020 for £725), they have one at Atkinsons at the minute, a 1986, for £940. If you have not seen it already the Coin Cabinet have actually added a tool to view old auction results by coin which is really good, you will need an account to log in. The shown prices do not include buyers fee's which is a bit of a pain as they have both normal auctions (usually 6%) and premium (18% I think) but you can also view their previous auctions to check what the buyers fees are if you are so inclined, but every price needs a minimum of 6% +VAT adding to it. https://thecoincabinet.com/auctions/auction-results/
  8. I am content with it as is so I don't think I will bother, but yes I know a couple of people who have had to continually send back coins to get them assigned correctly
  9. Sorry what I meant to say was it did not get the mint error (die clash) but did get the assignment (marsh 46B) which sits under pedigree on the NGC site
  10. The PCGS slabs are decent and with it being an Australian sov I did consider going PCGS, but decided on NGC in the end just out of personal preference
  11. Well remembered yes, I got a graded 21/11 from here off the forum
  12. For those that remember a few weeks ago when I received the 1872M medallic die error coin, I sent that off to get it re-slabbed with NGC and to try and get the error assignment on the slab This is the coin prior to me sending it off: Well I got the results today and NGC have given it the correct marsh number and the error assignment I was after, though no mention of the die clash but I was not really expecting that - https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6769040-001/55/ They have even put close ups on the site, not always a given with them
  13. I wont bid live, I have buggered up too many times. Once I won a batch of silver £2 coins, I had got distracted and thought I was bidding on the previous lot
  14. I pre-bid rather than doing it live, there was 6% plus VAT to pay on the hammer price (the VAT is on the 6% not the hammer price)
  15. Couple more beauties received this morning The 1884M from the recent Coin Cabinet auction and the Viente Peso from HGM
  16. Don’t trust BBP numbers mate, as @Spyder has said they are not 100%. Get ya wallet out and buy a Marsh book
  17. They don't have any mintage for the 1887 Young Heads I notice
  18. Quite a common date, see then quite a lot. Its 48/49 that don't come up a lot, then also the 58/59 Yes the mintages are shared, for young heads that's always the case for the branch mints
