  1. A one per cent move takes in a lot more pound notes these days !
  2. Sterling has had a fairly stable year v the dollar.. if the BOE goes first. And it should inflation will crumble soon.. the sell off won’t last long as the improved growth numbers come through.. FX traders are always looking three moves ahead
  3. Not seen any on here for ages.. they are a bit like the Rolex of silver bars. its called 'vintage silver' but basically anything made before the 'great melting'.. especially from now defunct smaller manufacturers. lots of small US firms included in that as well ..
  4. Bonds are falling in yield terms as well. UK ten Year money is below 4 per cent now... Its more a flight to security as away from fiat.. its almost like there are few wars on and western governments have their heads up their arse
  5. No,one cares about silver . But after gold it is money.. and one day that will be reflected in the price, probably just after no one can afford a sov
  6. Gold is the marker of real money.. it’s May well be 6 months off the pace.. it may be fecked by money printing , zero interest rates and off balance sheet manipulation… but eventually it’s gets where it’s going.. and that’s a good bit higher
  7. Enough for a holiday in the usa. if you dont tip
  8. 2021 ‘s always seemed to have a sharper edge. But I’m sure that’s just me
  9. off piste a bit, but I met 5 yanks from DC today on the tube at kings cross.. just been told no eurostar for the new year part of their euro trip.. no Paris for them.. they were heading back to Oxford. I told them Oxford is better than Paris but it didn't cheer them up.. mind you. sod them I was on my way to Barnet to see southend lose 1-0 mutter
  10. the buy to sell spread on decent 1 oz silver bars is enormous.
  11. Single or full sov all day long. I’ve been wanting a few doubles for some time but never pull the trigger, and take singles instead .. being a big 22 carat. Coin handling fan I think I’d rather save up and get a krug
  12. Sterling pops up against the dollar. As moron Bailey fails to notice the upcoming recession, much as he did with inflation.. and says rates are not coming down as soon as the markets think.
  13. id venture its quite the opposite.. they are doing exactly what the need to do.. the currency is now officially at its black market level.. so what it is actually worth. spending and social have to be slashed (the applies to every western country as well by the way). the spike in inflation from the devaluation will be less then expected as no one was taking their official currency at their rate any way.. long end interest rates will collapse if they stay on top of spending.. inward investment will skyrocket.. yes there will be pain but it is necessary.. also there new guy is doing all the hard miles on day one. exactly as he should I expect to see them comfortably outperforming the UK on growth within 2 years.
  14. Id be looking to pick up some platinum coins or bars at these levels but the buy sell spread is VAST
  15. These questions nearly always de-end on how rich or skint you are, If your family is hungry and your are 3 months behind on the rent then you get as cheap as poss. if your bequeathed investment fund is up 9 per cent to 8.7 mill this year you might be feeling a tad more generous .. also if the person selling is a nice person or a total bellend has some bearing .. and of course the most important bit. How pissed are you
  16. UK. Brit’s and eagles. Never saw the appeal of a silver krug , I guess due its iconic gold standing maples look tragic.. bars. Englehard and then a very long list of small American producers that no longer exist. JM if it’s not the new stuff they still make ?
  17. I prefer the ‘older colour’ but the new ones are perfectly acceptable and a lot shinier , I if that’s your bag. if you manage to acquire a ‘pile’ of sovs over time they all look great together
  18. thats often the kind of market that ends the day a lot higher. usually after a 6 pinter at lunch in London.
  19. im no chart fan. neither do I bother with price action. but even I cant ignore an all Time high close on a Friday (in dollars) and an opening like this.. I may even open another can of beer and see how it goes
  20. an overly lively start to the weeks trading. in the oldest of markets. one assumes things will calm down !
