  1. If they are located in China they're untouchable. Go to that land and you will find copies of Western brands being sold left, right and centre. And I don't mean Del Boy style out of a suitcase in a dodgy market. The Chinese chap selling his tat on the internet to Johnny Westerner knows this only too well. Your only way to gain redress is head east and beat the sierra hotel one tango out of him - but that'd take a lot of time and money.
  2. I reckon you'll shift them at 3K, probably no more than that. They'll appreciate in time. 3K = 3 × 1kg of Beast Completer plus about enough change for a Sovereign. That's where my money would be.

    2022 Coins

I'm on the hunt for fresh metal as always... On the 2022 front I've so far found Britannias and the rather lovely Perth Mint 2022 1oz silver tigger on sale and actually in stock. The gold tigger is available too but the design doesn't have the same visual appeal in my eyes as the silver one. I'm exercising my Yorkshire and Scottish blood rites to grumble about 37 quid for a 1oz silver coin - anyone clocked the tigger any cheaper? Only other coin I've seen is RM Maid Marian but I think it looks bloody awful - so bloody awful I wouldn't have it given! Well that's a lie, I'd trade if for something else... Anyone seen any other 2022 metal in stock?
  4. The only other kilo coins I'm aware of are the Aussie ones. Never seen one in the flesh, never mind owned one. Hope to put that right someday! I do like the size, I can see and appreciate the detail of the design - I can't on the 1oz coins without a magnifying glass. As for liquidity I've shifted kilo bars on ebay without issue - if you price stuff as per market conditions it will sell. Obviously you've got to be significantly below reputable dealers price otherwise why would anyone want to buy off an unknown quantity with limited comeback. Hopefully the premium in the Beast will reflect in future sale prices in a few years time. I've stacked mine as a long term keeper to be sold off in retirement should the need arise. Which is true of pretty much all my stack, I'm in for the long run rather than the quick flip.
  5. Just thought I'd put up a picture. For those who have not seen these things the sheer size of them is like "wow" or was to me. That teeny weeny thing in the middle is a 50p piece. You sure wouldn't want a pocket full of beasts!
  6. I definitely don't want to go the moon. It'll be full of undesirables like Bezos and Branson any year soon...
  7. The Mint doesn't know it's backside from it's elbow. I would guess Atkinson have stock as they are not in the business of hacking customers off. Phone 'em to check. BBP still have stock as of 5 minutes ago (just bought some more and didn't clear them out like last time!!!) They're 3 pounds a coin more. I can live with that.
  8. These have been minted again and deliveries to dealers are ongoing. BBP currently have stock.
  9. Nothing surprises me with RM. They can't communicate, they can't control quality, they have next to no idea of product availability. I wonder if their vaulted storage is actually secure - if it is then it's probably the only thing they're doing right! That's if a padlocked garden shed can be termed a vault!
  10. Well you can't enjoy your money when wearing a wooden overcoat, so may as well spend it on decorated coins, big plates or in my case toy cars. Brum brum...
  11. I view them as contrived nonsense. You like silver? You like giraffes? Buy a coin and a giraffe picture/ print to hang on the wall. Much better solution. Or get a pet giraffe... cat flap will need enlarging though!
  12. I think the Welsh are all hiding at home scared of the lurgy. Or possibly just scared of hard work? The DVLA disease could have spread easterly... And in the meantime the sheep are running the show. Baa!
  13. Thanks for all the advice guys. You all said coins. I'd been fancying a bar, but then with the price of gold as is I'd have afforded a puny little thing. Just wouldn't cut it for a man with dreams of a car boot full of the stuff ala Michael Caine in the Italian job. That will have to remain a dream unless fast car, shotgun and stockings come into play! So after much sitting on hands I bought some Sovs. Dinky little things aren't they! Appetite whetted they have been joined by one of Her Maj's beasts (and I don't mean Prince Snowflake of Sussex). Well 10 beasts actually, the Completer coin is very nice, even if I do need a magnifying glass to appreciate the detail in it's full splendour. A Britannia next I think when the piggy bank is able to oblige...
  14. Ah, I think you're onto something. The QC man at RM is obviously drinking milk and eating cookies whilst sneezing a lot due to covid. So it's real milk, real Oreo's and real covid...
  15. I fail to understand the comment about the capsule touching the coin. Of course it does, unless their is zero gravity in the capsule and the coin is floating!
  16. The one's I have are perfect. RM supplies them in capsules with the capsules shrink wrapped onto card backing. Sounds like a third party has had his/ her fingers in!
  17. Personally I see no point in paying larger premiums for fractional silver from a stacking/ investing perspective. In simple terms, what's the point? An oz of silver is cheap, as in the average man can likely afford to buy the odd coin or 25. If you can only afford a quarter oz a month, say, then save your money for 4 months and buy a 1oz coin. If we were talking gold then fractional probably is affordable by many, but a 1oz gold coin a month will be out of reach of a lot of people. Now if you're talking from a coin collector / hobby point of view then, yes, why not if it floats your boat. Just remember that you're going to lose that premium, or most of it, on resale unless you find a like minded coin collector who wants such a thing. Just my 1oz worth
  18. My brain says if you can offload the eagle, buy an oz of something else and pocket a good few $ whilst at it then go for it! It all melts down the same...
  19. Given the quality of fake items that come from China these days (as opposed to a lot of poor quality fakes elsewhere), I would always open a seal. I really don't think forging a holographic shiny sticker strip would be much of a challenge to the right man - knocking out a forged coin I imagine is harder.
  20. Crikey! Looks like those silver bars walked up to Mike Tyson and insulted his mum!
  21. I have always found their service to be excellent and that they have stock if they say they do. Indeed, when I've tried to order X coins before the website flags up their stock level if they have less than X in stock.
  22. I'm thinking of getting a few more of these. The premium over a kilo bar is now getting a bit silly though: BBP have Prioksky bars on sale at nearly £100 less than the Beast - about 12% cheaper if my brain can do it's sums. Still, they are beautiful.
  23. Unfortunately whilst there are good guys on ebay, there are many more out to rob you. I have bought silver off ebay, but I am pretty confident I can determine if a 1oz silver coin is genuine or fake. Even then I'll only buy single coins from a trader until I've determined they're trustworthy - and know where they live! I still haven't bit the bullet and bought any gold (thanks for the advice guys in my other thread) but absolutely when I do it's coming from a UK dealer - spotting a fake gold coin from a real one is not a skill I have or know anything about!
  24. My beasties landed courtesy of UPS today. They look good in @BackyardBullion youtube video but way better in the flesh. Thankfully the Queen must have finished her donuts and licked the jam up before appearing on my coins. They're really well packaged by the half dozen in monster boxes - not that I've got a half dozen (at least not yet!), with pairs of coins in capsules shrink wrapped onto heavy card backing. Definitely definitely worth the premium over the cost of a kilo silver bar in my opinion.
  25. Hi Guys I've been stacking silver for years, but since Brexit and no VAT free way of legally acquiring I've stopped (apart from a kilo Queens Beast which I couldn't resist). I now have some money burning a hole, so thinking a few ounces of gold. What gold though? Thinking Krugers (as everybody knows what they are so are easily sellable), I do like the Maple - it looks real pretty, also thinking Queens Beast as coin collectors might drive prices up down the line? Or should I go Sovs? CGT isn't a consideration as far as I'm concerned, running rings around HMRC is a specialist subject of mine! So what shiny stuff would you steer a gold newbie to? Thanks in advance!
