  1. Hey all I'm thinking of adding this coin to my collection. What do you guys think, how much would you pay
  2. This eBay listing made me laugh, this guy thinks he has the only one like that. Rarest in the world apparently lol https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rarest-in-the-world-1-off-Rejects-5-Coins-Silver-Royal-Mint-2oz-999-9-Pure-/143973109698?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  3. Great reading all the replys and wow didn't realize so many people collect for investment. I do have some bullion silver in my collection and will be getting more and some gold as well but didn't expect nearly every one to look at coins and metals as an investment for the future. Now I've read all the replys and people's stories I'm not really that surprised and it actually may change the way I buy in the future
  4. Picked this one up from the royal mint recently. Decimal day silver proof piedfort
  5. To many fakes out there it's such a shame
  6. Hi to all I just wanted to start a thread to get people's stories on what the main reason is you collect the coins you do. There's plenty of different types to collect whether it be moden coins historic coins gold coins silver coins British coins world coins graded or ungraded the list goes on. For some it's an investment and others a hobby, Being new to this hobby I was interested in other people's reasons for Collecting. For me I do have some modern coins and will collect others which but they don't really get me that excited, I prefer historical coins as I find they have a story to tell and i love history. I really like the feel of and old coin so am not to fussed about graded mint coins in slabs although they are amazing coins and nice to look at but I like to hold and feel a coin. Everyone is different so what does it for you

Thinking of adding this to my collection, it's only cheap little add on but still would like one in my collection. At this price which is cheap would you guys buy it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1825-SHILLING-GEORGE-IV-BRITISH-SILVER-COIN-NICE-/384291511028?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  8. Lovely looking coin Just to up date anyone that's helped me out with the coins which were all fakes I've now returned them all and got my refund
  9. This is because all the coins came from the same place. I'm in the process of getting my money back so it's not to bad. I'm new to collecting so its a learning curve. Didn't realize there was so many fakes of these coins
  10. I think the weight of both the coins say to me they are fakes. The crown does have a nice ping sound to it but sadly have to say they are looking like fakes
  11. Thanks for the reply I've learnt quite alot about Morgan dollars over the last few days thanks to you guys
  12. No news on this one yet had one person say they thought it was a remake but need to look at it more closely. As soon as I get time I will take it to a specialist and get it checked out. Not getting my hopes up yet. Will keep you posted
  13. Dollar weighs 23g and the crown is 22g
  14. I'm guessing at the dollar being a fake not to sure on the crown
  15. Hi I have these two coins an 1865 one dollar and an Australian one crown 1937. Just wondered what people thoughts were on these. Real or more fakes lol
  16. This is an old topic but does anyone buy old coins from the royal mint? They have some nice coins in stock but all seem slightly over priced
  17. Just look up Morgan dollars on a Chinese app and you can pick them up for about £1 each. People have even left reviews saying they weigh 26.7 grams and are silver plated.
  18. It's cool I'll just return them and get my money back. Could be interested in the coins mate do you have any pictures please
  19. Hi Dicker Thank you for taking the time to reply, I was starting to think they are all fakes as oddly they all are under weight by the same amount. I did a ping test in them today and they sound slightly different to an old sliver Australian crown that I have. They actually ping the same sound as the hobo dollar which is obviously fake. It's crazy to think that these fakes can look so real to the eye. Lovely coins and I shall be collecting a few real ones now 🤣

  21. Here's a few of the ones I have, I have 22 in total
  22. Hi I picked them up from a guy I know that brought a job lot of 110 coins from America
  23. Hi all I've picked up a job lot of Morgan dollars and an not sure if they are real or fake is so hard to tell. They all pass the magnetic test and don't really have no obvious flaws. One thing that is strange is they all weigh 23/24 grams. I know Morgans should weigh 26.7 but wouldnt they lose some weight over time Thanks
  24. Thanks for the info guys that's a great help. Ive got CC, s, and some o and some coins with out any think there
  25. Looking back at the coin it doesn't quite have the same smooth fill to it like the others
