  1. i think the increases were too sudden and some fallback/profit taking was to be expected. Palladium in particular was too swift, and can be substitued in many cases with Platinum. The fed decision is tommorrow, and will be interesting to see how monetary policy pans out in the next few months. Several interest rate rises have been priced in, but this was before the invasion of Ukraine, and the exclusion of Russia from Swift. Industrial demand should continue to rise.
  2. fascinating discussion gents/gals but what does any of this have to do with the silver price 😛 p.s. didnt the govt have to issue loads of new 1p and 2p coins last year?
  3. Please accept my apologies, I was trying to be sarcastic without making that clear in my post 😕 The drain on Comex is also off the charts this month though, courtesy of WSS:
  4. moving the topic back to silver, according to this update (which is difficult to read due to caps), most of the silver traded in London comes from Russia, so there might be difficulties going forward, as it will have to come from comex (or apparantly BV also?) https://www.silverdoctors.com/silver/silver-news/silver-comex-under-siege-us-set-to-freeze-russian-gold-reserves/
  5. who knows, perhaps instead of the remainder freezing, it got erroded by the atlantic winds
  6. according to Roman Manly, the most likely explanation for the freeze in Russian gold is due to the cold weather, as its not for sale. Although some remains, the repat effort was completed ahead of schedule.
  7. interesting, thx for sharing ! is it normal for BV to experience withdrawals?
  8. i've still got some GCL didn't BTU lose out from its coal price hedges?
  9. they can do that if they wish, but will have to stump up with the actual silver in exchange for fiat come delivery date !
  10. hence the usage of quotes around by-products in my original post
  11. hence the usage of quotes around by-products in my original post
  12. interesting, thx. the higher price of the 'by-products' sould help offset the higher energy cost of extracting & purifying silver.
  13. this is a bit of a non-news item - no new gold is coming out of russia anyway !
  14. silver to the moon ! isn't nickel a by product of silver mining, or am i mistaken?
  15. he died for our sins....
  16. you might have a bit of a problem if carry those with regular change - over years it will flake away. There's a reason why most circulatable coins are 22 carat....
  17. no offence was intentional, i was just upset that binance had 'forgotten' about my long eth / short doge trade after not logging in for a few months. I was expecting to be a millionaire now. After finally logging in tho, i found that still am. It will just cost more to transfer out than the 30quid profit i made 😕
  18. it looks like there is going to be quite a fat finger event in all of this, that's for sure....
  19. To us he probably sounds like an old bore and nothing more than a glorified executive who provides a summary of the days news. but to the younger ones, he might provide some guidance, like this guy...
  20. excuse me gents, what's getting lost here is that you can't time the market...
  21. i'd go for 0- infinity, to close this matter off 😛
  22. well now that Shatner has come back down, they will probably shoot an ape up next year. Racial diversity is a big thing stateside. i guess one monkey lost in space is a monkey saved, the last anything wants is to find home back alien life in the form of a Bezos type character, trying to ingrataite oneself with the misses who you had originally wanted to escape from in the first place.
  23. thats true. In capitalism, its every man against man, in communism, its the other way round. gold has held up well, especially since GBP has done well also this year.
  24. I think manipulations do occur in the short term. In the long term they get ironed out: think about it, if gold/silv is manipulated downwards, then just buy it! No doubt Mr Maguire and his new Kinesis outfit are able to pick up gold cheaply and correct the impact of manipulation. The wallstreetbets crew / wolf of wall street types are the ones doing the real manipulation, by having an outsized impact on small markets. Its like going to your local Shell garage, and instead of paying 1.49 per litre, you pay 0.39 per litre, and then cry because Shell and BP are a cartel, etc etc
