  1. Does anyone actually have a queue number?
  2. Forgive me if I'm wrong, you may already be aware, but I'm assuming there's a high premium on this coin that will probably be lost on the secondary market if/when you come to sell it. British Isles coins tend to be overpriced and only worth spot when it comes to sell. The defects may be a good excuse to ask for a refund, which you are entitled to anyway if it is within the relevant timeframe. On the other hand, if you don't mind paying a high premium & you don't mind it depreciating, then you could just return it for a replacement.
  3. In fairness to CoR, they must put a lot of work into their auctions and not get paid when the lot doesn't sell. It wouldn't be unfair of them to start charging the seller for the freedom of choosing their starting bid...
  4. Sure, but that's pretty much same as always. I agree they have a tough job in striking a balance, but it seems recently they have leaned very far towards their own profits....
  5. Was it really necessary for RM to release a memorial sovereign? A memorial coin is understandable but did it have to be the sovereign? And the increased mintage numbers, along with the other new releases just floods the market with "special" design sovereigns. The increased RRP makes it harder to hold their premium and generally doesn't sit well with many customers as the feeling of it being a money spinner takes the gloss off the actual product. Credit where it's due, for all the criticism of their quality control, over 95% of the census achieving a 70 shows a high production standard, but makes them not really any more valuable on the secondary market. So you now have customers covering the grading costs and not really seeing any great return for their efforts, if they choose to sell quickly. Mid to long term, who knows what the future holds. All of the one-off designs have a lot going for them. But what will the market look like in future? RM will surely have to tone it down with all these new sovereign designs, but there's no guarantee of that happening. What if there is a new monarch again soon? Are we going to see this repeat itself? It's too much already imo.
  6. Mintage figures will be interesting. I assume they'll be similar numbers to Harry Potter series, unfortunately.
  7. Yes, as long as the missing frosting/imperfections are made that way, and aren't the result of post-production damage, they can still achieve a 70. Although, the PCGS wording states - "as long as those flaws are minor and do not impact the eye appeal", so there is some discretion with the graders, which probably applies to NGC also. https://www.pcgs.com/grades#grade70 https://www.ngccoin.uk/coin-grading/grading-scale/
  8. Twice the coin, twice the enjoyment aye 🙂
  9. I haven’t got this in hand yet, but the result came through yesterday. Id like to thank @DuncanWylieWilson for being an absolute star ⭐️
  10. Everyone loves a Kew Gardens Nice one @Darr3nG
  11. I'm sure you can see the condition better than me. Photos can be very deceptive sometimes, but they look very nice coins. With the 1858 half sov, an AU would be considered high grade. There is only one in MS with NGC. I would hazard a guess that yours is XF, but that's just a meaningless guess. I suppose it's a case of whether it's possible to get a numeric grade with a detector find, that's been in the ground for many years? They look so nice that I would be inclined to try, unless they look obviously damaged in hand..
  12. The 1861 looks very nice in the pics. If it avoids the details grade, I would guess its a MS coin. The highest grade with NGC is 62. Can you show the 1857 full and 1858 half? both are much rarer coins. https://www.ngccoin.com/census/world/australia-circulation-issues/sc-27/1sov/?c=106045&des=MS&grade=F&from=ngcresearch https://www.ngccoin.com/census/world/australia-circulation-issues/sc-27/1-2sov/?c=105830&des=MS&grade=55&from=ngcresearch
  13. Half sov sold, Pamp bar available
  14. Hi guys, pamp 5g bar £290 - sold half sov £220 - Sold plus postage, or free SD if purchased together
  15. So many inconsistencies. Sometimes they take the money upfront, sometimes they don't. There is also glitches in the open/closed orders from time to time. Best way is to speak to them and hear it from the horses mouth imo.
  16. https://bidlive.coinsoftherealm-auctions.com/lots/view/4-9OFV8M/2023-king-charles-iii-struck-on-the-day-gold-sovereign-new-crowned-portrait?utm_source=Coins+of+the+Realm+Ltd&utm_campaign=76db57d5c4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_04_30_09_20&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-76db57d5c4-[LIST_EMAIL_ID]&mc_cid=76db57d5c4&mc_eid=a2ddd488b1
  17. I have heard of orders being cancelled without notice, but have never experienced it myself. If you've had the email, that is usually solid confirmation. Sometimes they don't take funds until dispatch, although they seemed to have stopped doing that recently. Call this number and ask them. They're open until 10pm 0800 032 2152
  18. Check the NGC population to see how many have been graded and how many exist in high grade. https://www.ngccoin.com/census/world/great-britain-1816-1901/sc-349/1sov/?c=462114&des=MS&grade=61&from=ngcresearch The best way to judge its value is to check what it sells for. The Coin Cabinet is the easiest way to check imo. This is their most recent auction - https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/auctions/4-96WWZU/auction-79-april-sale?limit=36&search=1864+sovereign Ask yourself why you want to grade it. To increase its value? Or just because you want it slabbed? I have sometimes added coins to my submissions just out of curiosity...
  19. I'm not sure how popular he is, but I've been a big fan of The Coin Geek YouTube channel and he has now started his own sticker certification for items he sells. Kind of trying to rival CAC. Just wondering if anyone's interested..
  20. No worries. It appears there's plenty left in stock. I should be able to order a replacement. I do hope you don't encounter any issues though, with the distance involved.
  21. I would find them unacceptable even for the capsules, but unfortunately, they are on the coins surfaces 😞
  22. Amazing set. Very well packaged. Everything about this product is fantastic, except for quality control. It’s littered with scratches…
  23. Does anyone know how long the estimated delivery is for the 1oz silver?
  24. Did you get a replacement for your cancelled coin? It's a shame their delays are so long that it takes the enjoyment away.
