  1. only moved 450 or so since the que opened. painfully slow. maybe that 2oz silver at BCC for 3x the price is worth it
  2. most are surely going to be in for the 2 and 5oz silver coins, so the 10oz might be worth a punt
  3. For those on chrome, you can download a chrome extension that performs a 'tab auto refresh' you can set the refresh rate from anything from 5 secs to 24hrs. I have 2 tabs open. One that is just sat as it was earlier this morning, versus the other that is set to refresh every 10 secs. Once the que number pops up, just cancel the auto refresh
  4. Does anyone know (or can you guess) how much the 2oz and 5oz silver is likely to be? I'm trying to work out if I can even afford to be in the que!
  5. RM page has just gone offline to prepare for launch
  6. https://cambridgeshirecoins.com/ Cambridge based https://www.kbcoins.com/ Stevenage based
  7. Pretty sure there are coin sellers around the area and I'm certain there are sellers in Stevenage and Cambridge if that's any use
  8. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I think I'll be keeping the single sov for the reasons mentioned about the tiny dots, but the quarter sov has ruined it for me in respect of the 3 Coin set. I spent quite a while looking at the area and my reason for being so convinced that they are scratches is because you can see the damage to the coin surface when you move the coin around against natural light. Maybe a video would help, but it wouldn't change the situation in that I'm now waiting to hear back from the RM as to the options available. I've also ordered a 5x loupe so that I can have a look through the same magnication as if it were being graded.
  9. It's a nightmare trying to get the right angle, but they are definitely some kind of sequenced scratches. they are so close to each other it looks like they've been caused by the same thing
  10. Thanks for the reply - that all makes sense. I suppose I'm kind of hoping that someone with grading experience will confirm the situation as I'm keen to get a PF70 (isn't everyone :))
  11. Out of interest, can anyone recommend a 5x magnifier? I've found this one on Amazon but not sure the quality https://www.amazon.co.uk/Magnifying-Illuminated-Magnifier-Handbag-Reading/dp/B082PFMHGJ/ref=sr_1_24?crid=GV12JESWQ2T4&keywords=5+magnifier&qid=1638462986&sprefix=5+magnif%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-24
  12. Ok, so I spoke too soon with my coins. I ordered a 3 coin set direct from RM and pre-ordered a single Sov from elsewhere. I was checking the quarter sov today and saw a slight glint that caused me to look further. What I found were 3 marks that clearly show some kind of damage to that side of the coin. Apologies for the quality, but it's never easy to get the best photos under magnification. I was looking through a 30x magnifier (and I know what people will say about the RM rules) but it was the glint in the light that brought my attention to it so my argument is that it is 'visible' to the naked eye. So I then decided to recheck my other coins and found a further dink on my Sovereign from the 3 coin set you can just about see it in the first photo on the desk and again, my point is that I could see it with the naked eye before I magnified it. So I've sent an email off to Anne Jessopp using the email shared by @BackyardBullion and hope to hear back from her soon. Out of interest, what do people think? Am I making a big deal over nothing? Whilst I'm here I might as well mention the small dots on the single sov that I received. I can only see them under magnification so they may not be so much of an issue, but the key question is whether anyone thinks they will affect the grading as this was something I was planning to do. I don't have a 5 x magnification but will buy one to see what I can see with that, but just any general comments will help. Here's the photos
  13. Regarding grading - I apologise in advance if I put my foot in it, but can I ask a couple of questions. Firstly, how much does grading cost? Is it affordable (£20-30) or an extra premium (£100-150)? Secondly (and this is why I apologised in advance). Could you submit for 'pregrading' advice to pay for the service, but find out what it would achieve before committing to slabbing it? If it was a 70, great, go ahead and slab.... But anything less would give you the option to ask for it not to be slabbed whilst being able to maintain the market value for an ungraded set. I know this is morally the wrong thing to do, but I just wondered how this worked.
  14. I've just received my 3 coin set from the RM and I'm happy to report that everything looks spot on. Everything was packaged correctly, no rattling and no loose capsules. The coins themselves look amazing and I can't find any dinks or marks under 30x magnification. I'm counting myself very lucky and it's sad to hear the opposite has happened to so many people. Fingers crossed the RM resolve the outstanding issues with everyone.
  15. my 3 coin set has gone from open to closed!! Hallelujah 😁
  16. I'm actually starting to dread receiving my coin set because there appear to be more unhappy customers than there are those satisfied. The packaging and quality issues leave me with little confidence that I'll receive what I have asked for. It really has taken the shine off the whole experience tbh.
  17. So mine is still showing open so I called the RM and took them to task over it. They admitted that their order system cocked up on the release day resulting in a number of orders not coming through until the 17th!! (i.e. 2 days after release). You can see whether you are a victim of this by looking at your open order and seeing whether it says the order date is the 17th or not. They assured me that they only sold what they could cater for, but she did apologise that the system basically pushed my 9.15am order to the back of the que and reflected that I hadn't ordered until 9.15am on the 17th. She didn't give me categoric reassurance that the order could be fulfilled, but simply said that the system showed my particular order was being processed and all orders in that state are expected to be fulfilled. If your order is not showed as being 'processed' on their system there could be an issue. Hope that helps for those in the same position as me.
  18. My 3 Coin set is still an 'open' order. I spoke to them and they said all was fine, but it's slightly frustrating it's not even showing closed. RE the marks - unless you're grading them, the set with the marks will be worth just as much as the set without them if you sell them. Morally speaking it's not the way to act, but it should give people some peace of mind that it shouldn't matter in years to come.
  19. Hi Dave, I'm guessing yours is showing 3 single orders? I think that's the way it's displayed, but a little concerned that the 3 coin sets were in high demand.
  20. My 3 coin set is still showing in open orders, is anyone else in the same boat specifically for the 3 coin set?
