Stacking sovereigns

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Tuck70 from Massachusetts, USA, I am an avid collector and stacker. On the collection side being from the US I prefer US coins having a complete collection of Benjamin Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963, mostly all Full Bell Lines, A complete collection of Walking Liberty Half Dollars 1916-1948 ranging from uncirculated to good there's 65 coins in that collection which I'm kind of proud of 😀 I'm working on a Morgan Dollar collection 1878-1904, there's something about coins from the American old west that attracts me to them, thinking of how some cowboy could have flipped it on a bar or poker table out west and they're attractive in an odd sort of way I prefer coins from Carson City Mint CC which was only in existence from 1870-1893, I have a bunch of other US coins like an 1868 3 Cent coin, an 1877 Trade dollar and one I really like is a 1806 Draped Bust Half Cent in VF condition. On the Stacking side I am working towards 20 coin stacks of different sovereign coins, I already have 20 American silver eagles, 8 Canadian Maple Leafs, 5 Britannias which I think might be my favorite and 2 of Australian Kangaroos, Austrian Philharmonics and South African Krugerrands. I know it is some more money to stack sovereign coins but #1 I like them and #2 I think in the long run 10-15 yrs, I may be better off than all rounds or bars of which i have some of both also. What do you think?

Collect what you enjoy and stack what you can afford. Anything is better than fiat.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

😮well done! Buy what you like… come selling time there is always a market there. Must say that I have moved away from buying much silver to buying gold. The way spot is going, just buy what you can. Whatever you do… good luck👍👍
