1874 London G&D Douro shipwreck sovereign value

Recommended Posts

A good few years ago there were loads of these sovs sold as Duoro salvage. Many had provenance back to the Spink and sons auction and commanded a premium. These seem to have disappeared now as the provenance trail has been broken. I have bought a few but paid no more that a non-Duoro coin was worth.

Yes the NGC did take a copy of my COA, they won’t submit without..

These are mine,

I do these YT shorts as they are quick to film and handy for reference

I have a graded Douro AU58 Shield - think I bought it for about 400 about four years ago.  Seemed expensive at the time!

Not my circus, not my monkeys

It would struggle at NGC to get duouro shipwreck designation to be honest

Nothing to prove the coin been swapped out has to be cast iron to get shipwreck certified you maybe lucky though
