NGL at 69 quid I'm still tempted

If you can handle the 47% premium and the fact it will ever only be worth spot at best..then go for it.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Possibly. From a purely commemorative basis I mean. They're just collectors pieces. Who knows what they might be worth 30 years down the line, yes probably no more than the gold or sentimental value. I suppose it depends if you enjoy collecting that kind of thing. I definitely wouldn't even consider it at full price, but £69 is tempting and affordable for a smaller budget (perhaps similar to 1/10th Britannias?).

A youtuber I watch actually did an unboxing of a very similar 1/8 sovereign a couple of years ago. It's not really his thing but he was suitably impressed.

I agree, I've had a few over the years at spot price...they were a couple of excellent designs..but I struggled to shift them when time came for a change. Plus they aren't CGT free and don't appeal to general public for this reason. But @£69 you could buy a lot worse items.
