Seriously Royal Mint - Star Wars Coins?

Recommended Posts

Don't mind HP. I think it's a quintessentially British series and quite good. It's also good to see the likes of LOTR, Narnia, etc. But the 50p HP coins are horribly designed. The reverses are lame, to say the least...

Star Wars could potentially be good, but ultimately it depends on how they're made. These are not "serious" coins in my opinion, and you might not expect these to rise significantly in value. For novelty coins the rule is buy whatever you like and just appreciate ownership. However, given the numerous pop culture issues RM has pumped out in recent years I doubt they'll be very likeable.

If we do the right thing this time, we might have to do the right thing again next time.

RM appealing to a wider audience to wake them up, for those that maybe don't appreciate the already beautiful designs such as the sovereign etc. And more caught up and have more or a desire in fantasy / film.

I bought James bond coins, but much prefer the design of George and the Dragon, KCIII coronation or William Wyon.

I think this series will start to wake more of the masses to gold / silver and the market will grow and start to understand what we understand about real money.
