Stunning set

Long Set- featuring the Gold, Silver & Bronze- featuring the first coins issued with the famed Mary Gillick depiction of Elizabeth II in her first year as Queen.

This particular set is in an excellent state of preservation and is 100% complete and original, even including the original South African Mint tissue paper from 1953! The box has minor cosmetic wear but the latches are in full working order.  Stunningly toned Bronze, crisp bright Silver and lovely Gold with only very minor copper spot.

1 Pound 1953 – Elizabeth II- 7.98 g of .917 gold, diameter of 22 mm

1/2 Pound 1953 – Elizabeth II – 3.99 g of .917 gold, diameter of 19.5 mm

5 Shillings 1953 – Elizabeth II – 28.28 g of .500 silver, diameter of 38.61 mm

2 1/2 Shillings 1953 – Elizabeth II – 14.14 g of .500 silver, diameter of 32.3 mm

2 Shillings 1953 – Elizabeth II– 11.31 g of .500 silver, diameter of 28.7 mm

 Shilling 1953 – Elizabeth II – 5.66 g of .500 silver, diameter of 23.7 mm

6 Pence 1953 – Elizabeth II – 2.83 g of .500 silver, diameter of 19.35 mm

3 Pence 1953 – Elizabeth II – 1.414 g of .500 silver, diameter of 16.3 mm

1/4 Penny – Elizabeth II – 2.83 g of bronze, diameter of 20.2 mm
