Just something of interest.

I pay attention to what I think are genuine Sovereign rarities, and those that I think are “sleepers”.

I have seen three Narrow Shield 1843’s for sale recently, and I have a reasonable memory for coins.

I note that the same Narrow Shield:

- Sold for £9,250 in a Coin Cabinet auction - lot 23 earlier this year

- Now for sale at Sov Rarities for £13,500.  https://www.sovr.co.uk/collections/great-britain-coins/products/victoria-1843-sovereign-narrow-shield-variety-very-rare-xf40-gi24871

Nice mark up!

It is, however, like any shop you buy stock, how long is it going to sit there tying up your money? Could be gone tonight. Could be next year!🤔

Interesting more sold / available this year than I would have thought for a Marsh R3, but could just be random appearance on the market.

Yippee - I'm rich!  Oh no! I've just checked the other side and found my laurel leaves are not bushy enough, so its not a narrow shield!  I AM NOW SO DEPRESSED....😰🤕

Seriously, though I can't believe the RM are asking £18,600.
