As we know, there's nothing more permanent than a 'temporary measure'

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live, and It's  Britannia, with one t and two n's.

Awful prices they set for the items they have anyway. Anything they have listed can find cheaper elsewhere 99 times out of 100. Haven’t found anything I like on that site where it’s been cheaper than elsewhere.

Mostly I agree about high / over - priced but I usually end up buying Platinum one ounce coins from the RM as the cheapest in the UK.
I have also bought one ounce gold e.g. Queens Beasts, again after trawling the usual suspects only to find the RM sometimes has the best deals.
Same with a few silver bars surprisingly.
Always shop around of course but don't dismiss them altogether.

Can I ask why you purchase precious metals that have VAT added ? Or do you have them stored in the vault ?

Nothing wrong in doing so when the VAT is carried through to secondary UK market prices, which is the usually the case with silver and platinum bullion coins.

No choice really when building a collection rather than a "stack" as longterm investment.
I collected the Queen's Beasts and now started the Tudors in Platinum.
Also in gold ( VAT free ) and silver.

I would not buy bullion silver today, in bulk quantity, because of the VAT even though the VAT add-on seems to stick to coins if reselling in the UK.
Premiums on platinum are also exceptionally high and have been for some while.
Gone are the days of decent priced low premium and VAT free from Estonia.
