Buying Gold from overseas / Customs

I have seen a Gold coin that I really would like to buy, but it is from a company in Israel. Thus, my question is, do we have to pay customs on Gold?

There is a non PM company based in the U.S I have been buying from for years now, and up until the end of 2020 I was paying customs and a Royal Mail fee on each and every order, however since the beginning of last year I have had no customs or Royal Mail fees on several orders with that company, and others too.

Naturally, I don't want to be landed with an unexpected hefty bill.

Cheers.

Thanks for the link @Fadeingstar. If it is just a handling fee from the delivery company I am fine with that. Just don't want some hidden tax I am unaware of running into £100's of pounds to bite me on the bum, as much as I love the coin I am eyeing up. Maybe I should just take the plunge and hope for the best.

Thanks for your comment @SilverStorm. I guess whether I buy it directly or a bullion dealer does there is the possibility of some extra import charge I don't know about. Adding a middle man would also add an extra fee too I would imagine, for their time and trouble. What to do eh.
